Cutler had an MRI today that revealed a torn MCL. I wish everyone that's been slamming him would dial it down a little. So what if he was unemotional on the sideline. Maybe he was disappointed about not being able to play. He did try to go back out in the 2nd half, but couldn't go.

Had it happend early in the first qtr and they would of brought in the 3rd string QB might have been a damn good game.

Not knocking the Bears, it was a pretty good game.

I agree with you completely that the media/fans and especially current players were ridiculous in criticizing Cutler for not going back into the game. Obviously, Cutler couldn't play. Why would ANY player purposely take himself out of a Championship game (players all dream of going to the Super Bowl) if he wasn't significantly hurt? It makes NO sense. When you can't plant your leg to throw it makes playing QB a tad difficult. I was most surprised at the current NFL players (Jones-Drew, Asante Samuel, etc.) ripping him...

I think fans are more upset about Cutler's demeanor. Every time the cameras showed him, he was sitting on the bench, looking like he didn't care about the outcome of the game. Fans wanted him to be on crutches, standing next to Lovie Smith, firing up the troops and helping the 3rd string QB figure out a way to beat the Packers. But Cutler has always been unemotional, on and off the field. You can't expect him to all of a sudden be a be a firey/demonstrative player when its not in his nature to do act that way.

But there were a few clips, maybe one or so of him high fiving Hanie and sitting next to him going over photo's.  Unfortunately not enough of those shots.  IMHO.

Troy Aikman doesn't have anything to do with Fox News.

He often seems aloof or uninvolved on camera, and sometimes doesn't even seem to be affected by the action on the field when he's on the sidelines.  I'm sure the reality is quite different, but people respond to what they see on camera and don't worry about the details.

Even though I know any QB would kill to play in the NFC championship game, I had the same reaction as others as I saw him sitting on the sideline.  By comparison, I've seen other players that get injured and can't wait to come back out of the training room, sometimes on crutches, because they're mentally invested in the outcome of the game.  By comparison, Cutler seems like he's just doing a job, whether that perception is correct or not.
