the Braves have won 17 out of 28 against the other playoff teams, including 5 of 7 against the Dodgers. They're 1/2 game of St. Louis for the best record in the league, so the home record adds even more importance to that.

The Nats are officially out.

Go Braves!!!

Unfortunately I am a realist (not to mention a gambler) and I don't see the Braves going too far in the playoffs this year, but at least they won't have the opportunity to get fucked again in a one game playoff.

Truth be told, I think the Dodgers are the team to beat this year, and coming from the SF bay area, I grew up hating Dodger Blue. Oh well, I am more loyal to my wallet than any pro team in any sport, so I wish you Dodgers fans good luck.

and who knows? Once the post season starts, anything can happen. All we need is for a couple of our underacheivers like Uggla and the Upton brothers to get on a hot streak, and you never know.............

Look for me on the patio of the 755 Club, I fully expect to be there, unless of course I am abducted by some chica down south. lol

fifties and the fact that they've underachieved and sucked for the last 25 years, this year has been a welcome surprise-It's been a long time since 88, when the Dodgers whipped the A's, Conseco and MaGuire, and a ton of steroids behind Hersheiser and Gibson's homer in game 1, which cut the heart out of Oakland in game 1 off Eckersly. This was in my 'drinking days' and I passed out in my bed when Gibson limped to the plate for his epic smash-I woke up the next morning thinking LA had lost and was quite happy to learn of the final result-smile
Good luck to you in your wagering-8-)

I wanted to be the one who stuck it to him hahaha!!

And stop all that talk about the braves not going far in the playoffs... world series here we come!!

but have you seen all the holes in our lineup? BJ Upton and Dan Uggla are both hitting in the 180's, how do you sustain a rally with gaping holes in your lineup like that?

Not to mention we don't really have a one two knockout punch where it comes to starting pitching like we've become accustomed to. We do have three decent starters in Medlin, Teheran and Minor, but I would sure like to have Huddie or Beachy back in action. Sorry, but without a lot of luck, I just don't see us going too far.

And there's no way fredi gonzalez is going to start BJ Upton.. at least I hope not, he's a strike out waiting to happen.

Dan Uggla and the pitching will be ok... with craig kimbrel on the back end. However I will admit I fear the Los angeles dodgers, they're really good.

I agree home-court advantage is really important.. but have you seen that Dodgers lineup its lethal.... and I'm not worried about St. Louis at all that's easy work real easy!

probably more than any other team, as our home record is the best in the NL and our road record is not anything to brag about at under .500.

My biggest concern is a lack of hitting out of Upton and Uggla combined with not really having a veteran starting ace on the mound. We will see how it plays out, but I am not too optimistic.

The most important game in a short playoff series is the first. If the home loses, they have to win an extra game on the road, not always easy to do when, as Gambler pointed out, you're under .500 away from home.

you really think the Nats were going to make the playoffs? Where were they the first 4 .5 months of the season?"World series or bust". DC sports suck, and don't see any winners for a long time.
