Feel free to spank me here everyone.

I usually insist on politics staying the hell out of sporting events. If we DO NOT we continue to revisit the 72 olyimpics over and over again.

While watching the Portugal vs. N. Korea match all i could think about was the atrocities my family endured during the Korean War(those who still wish to call it a conflict can kiss my hairy ass)and WWII. It pleased me to no end the THUMPING N. Korea took at the hands of the Portuguese. The players on the N. Korean team had nothing to do with my losses. May they improve to be declared(one day)a force to be reckoned with.

Hey OSP,

I've seen lots of politically-charged matches.  Think England/Argentina, Germany/Russia, Germany/Poland, or Angola/Portugal.

Nice comment about N. Korea's players.  They were resilient against Brazil.  However, interesting note about this morning:  I was watching the Beeb before the match and the reporter said it was pouring out, dampening the Portuguese fans.  As for the North Korean fans...he turned around and said:  "I don't see any North Korean fans."

Best,

PS:  I'd spank you, but your address as you posted it a few days ago didn't come up on Mapquest! (wink)
