and thought Columbus may get them. the Hawks have all the right pieces in place and it's amazing what Rocky has been able to do in such a short period of time. bringing in Scotty Bowman was the best move ever.
The Kings were an 8th seed last year and they won the Stanley Cup. And they were dominant in doing so. You would NEVER have an 8th seed (think the Milwaukee Bucks this year) winning an NBA title. An 8th seed in the NBA would be extremely lucky to just win a playoff series. There is not a chance that they would win it all.
The Blackhawks are playing beyond incredible at this point. But hockey playoffs are tricky and year after year the best regular season team often finds itself ousted after a round or two.
Hawks are playing great hockey right now, that's for sure...but if it wasn't for qualifying for the playoffs, you could almost completely ignore the regular season in the NHL. You just never know who is going to be the hot team at the right time.
You know something magical is going on when Carcillo gets his first goal in 478 days in the last minute of the game last night to beat the Avs. It's pretty cool to see a streak like this. Hope the 'Hawks can keep it going.
