I’m giggling at myself in the mirror as I prepare to meet him. I must look perfect. It’s been so long! I’ve missed him. I remember him from the last time we met, his smile bursting wide as I opened the door. I always hide behind the door when someone knocks. It’s safer – the neighbors can’t see me. All he sees upon my opening the door is the soft candlelight, the flowers, the plate of tiny chocolates, and the sound of my favorite Jazz music meets his ears. When I close the door, he sees me…I am so happy to see him today!
I remember his height – exactly, and his warm embrace as I pop out from behind the door! I want to jump up and down, but these are some very high heels…and this tiny lace bra has no real support. That’s alright, he knows I mean it, and I feel him drawing me in deeper within his strong arms. Our lips met long ago, yet today it is as if new. I revel in our memories, and find myself submitting to the new stories that we are soon to share.
Ah, how many times I have awaited you. My King, my lover, my friend.
I’ve loved so many men. Some are still my lovers. Some are now dear friends. Some have faded into fond memory. But how I have loved them all; and they, in turn, have loved me.
