I'm on my way to Portland and wanted to try out the local flavor.  I figured the local board would be a good place to start but its pretty dead.  I tried to arrange a meeting in advance but the girls I called said to call when I arrive.  I don't want to end up in a hotel spanking the monkey because I waited too long to set something up.  

Is this the norm?
