I was logged on yesterday morning, left for a few minutes, and when I returned, it had shut down with the message from TEK that running the site was just not worth it -- risk versus reward -- or some shit. Too bad, life goes on.

First they had to change the name of the board, to TNA then Portland cops hassled them. I can't blame them for quitting.

TER is better anyway.

It has also been rumored that there were security breaches that went beyond account hijacking. And the administrators had been posting as if they were concerned re member posts that might potentially get them charged with compromising LE operations. There was also a very slanderous member vs. member post a night or so before the shutdown that wasn't deleted for a time. Throw in a few wild cards like the (remote?) possibility of someday getting charged as an accessory, etc. to whatever the charge might be if an underaged provider was reviewed & thereafter "met" by a number of members & you can understand why a purportedly ordinary pooner guy like TEK might shut a site down & honestly say "After much consideration, the risk versus reward is just not worth it".

What a crock.  If they weren't true hobbyiest then they shouldn't of had a website.  Fuck 'em.

I disagree. If you want to have a great hobbiest website, then you probably oughta be prepared for it to grow you into the role of a sex-industry magnate. Whether you want to forgive him for it or not, I just don't think that he was willing to go there (e.g., to have troubles in a smaller way like Larry Flynt or the Girls Gone Wild guy).
