I don't believe I had the privilege of knowing her. I'm sad for the people who do, and hope the police catch the person(s) responsible.

So heart breaking. That is why we need to be sure to check references ladies. You can't be too safe.

Actually if you go 14 posts under this one you will see that Roxie commented on how she checks references....  It takes more than checking references.   Need to follow your gut and choose who you surround yourself with wisely.

Yes, I saw that. I was the original poster. However, we  don't even know if it was a client that killed her.
Yes I agree we need to follow our gut but part of being safe with someone you have never meet is to get, as much info on them, as you can and verify it. God forbid something happening after our efforts to be safe, but at least we have documented somewhere the last persons info you spent time with. This may be helpful for LE to find the Perpetrator before he is able to hurt anyone else.
We may lose a few potiential clients because of our reference policies, but it is better to be smart than desperate.
