Are you speaking from personal experience? HA!HA!HA! But I bet that the reason things are not like that here yet.....Is that you're about the ONLY one posting here. LOL. Keep posting these zingers though. I enjoy reading them, and maybe you'll draw a crowd.
1) YOU do all the research....try to find real reviews, dissapointed that there are so few, and most are so inflated as to be "advertisements" with no useful information, from hobbyists with little or no track record. You study the woman's web site, attempt with much difficulty to contact other hobbyists for advice or recommendations. Very few respond to your email, and if they do, they didn't inquire about the services you are interested in anyway.
2) YOU contact the woman and make all the arrangements....maybe play a little phone/e-mail tag, provide references, maybe fill out a new client form.
3) YOU spend hundreds of dollars of your money for the woman's fee, maybe a tip, maybe get a hotel room, maybe take along a small gift like flowers or wine.
4) YOU take the risk of running into legal problems or getting ripped off.
5) YOU have a session that does not meet your expectations and you post a comprehensive review on their board.
6) THEY don't agree with your opinion. They are alarmed that maybe your review is too graphic, and deem it "ungentlemanly". The provider doesn't like your critisism, so she defends herself and calls you a fat loser publicly. She insists that your body odor is putrid, your place is a dump, your back is shaggy, and that you have a tiny dick. Her sycophantic fan-club clients jump down your throat as well, posting that you are a lying rat-bastard and are just trying to "slam" their angelic, flawless, perfect princess (whom they have all asked to marry), who is of course a 10/10/10. Others pipe up with their various opinions of you and the woman in question, regardless of whether they have ever actually had a session with her, read your posts, or even hobbied at all. Others take the opportunity to whine about board moderation. Various stupid jokes are posted that are completely off-topic, and mostly not funny. The board regulars (who also rarely write reviews) make some veiled comments; inside jokes that no one else understands, or cares about. If you are a newbie, you get bashed. If they think you post rants more often than you review, you get bashed. The thread gets large and strays far and wide. Your review is deleted.
Any Questions???

Dear Mr. C and Readers,
OK, you got me, so there were a few "autobiographical" touches in my little satire. *winks* Yes, it's true, I am one of the few (and proud) "elite" posters on TER Seattle. It's pretty much me and the power poster Hanna, over here our nickname for her is "The Mind".
To your point on this becoming like the "other" sites over time, with more traffic etc. I don't believe things will deteriorate here (or I wouldn't be here) because I feel this site is a better model. Why? The reviews are separate from the discussion, which allows for more anonymity in reviews, less politics, favoritism, and other BS. Here, it is all about the review history. This site is data driven by the consumers at large, not personality driven by one person, or a small group. The discussion boards are secondary, and just for fun and general info, not session details. As long as review data keeps coming in, I don't really mind what goes on in this discussion forum. At the moment, the reviews are doing quite nicely, thank you very much. The Achilles heel of this site, and of any that claims to be a "review" site, is if people simply don't contribute review information. If that happens, the board will either turn to spam and advertising, or die. This is the Internet, content is king, especially adult content.
More explanation on why I prefer this site: On other boards, many complain about people who "talk smack but never review" (the review/rant "batting average" issue). Here, you have one-click access to a reviewer's or provider's history. For example, if you didn't know me, and you were blessed/cursed with the fortune/misfortune of stumbling upon one of my soporific "mental masturbation" posts, you could make one click to see if I'd ever even posted a review. If you came up with nothing, you could take my words with an even heavier dose of incredulity. You can check provider and reviewer history instantly, no messy searches, no time-consuming emails, no keying in 5 different spellings of the name, this is just a better-designed site. You want accountability? You got accountability.
For those who worry about the fact that this is a pay site, again, they don't understand the model. I have never paid a dime to this site. You only pay if you don't review. Frankly, I love this. It makes perfect sense to me that those lurkers who don't publicly share their info should pay for it. Besides, this is nothing new, consider consumer reports magazine. Your subscription dollar goes to getting good, well organized, unbiased information. Do I begrudge the people who built this site (or that publication) who make money on these lurkers via my reviews? Why should I? I feel it's a great deal, I get a great site, with intelligent features, with free useful reviews in return for my reviewing. What did I get from the other "free" boards for my efforts? A permanent ban. LOL.
We have all seen what happens to "free" sites, the information they provide is severely compromised, difficult to navigate, and plagued by various dysfunctions. Two adages apply to free sites, "GIGO" and "you get what you pay for". I would argue that the "free" section of this site, with the "general description" and L/S numbers is still more valuable than the free "reviews" found on the other boards. The general information is no different in most cases, and at least you are guaranteed to see L/S numbers, on the other boards, you rarely find these anymore.
But as I've said before, only time will tell what model becomes the best source of review info in Seattle, and certainly other boards offer different things to different people. While I believe that actual session data is the main reason folks come to these sites, I fully understand and respect that some folks just like a board for shooting the breeze with their chums. They may stick with sharing session details privately, so board review content is not important to them. Others enjoy writing sentimental reviews as a way to "thank" and flirt with their favorite providers. Fine. These folks can post to their heart's content somewhere else, but I'm happy to know that when I read the reviews here, I don't have to waste my time opening another crème-puff review that contains nothing of value to me. After all is said and done, de gustibus non disputatum est, which roughly translates to "different strokes for different cocks" or "there is no accounting for taste of a pussy".

or at least an answer that long -). My question was purely rhetorical -). You are probably right about this bd, although I have heard that there have been disputes and flames on the LA bd, which has more traffic than this one.
At least if you're going to steal my material, how about giving me some credit for it???
Please note that my comments were posted on TRB on June 23rd and Iceman posted his (my) comments here on TER on June 25th.
Have you no shame?

Thanks....but, I think for the readers to understand what you're trying to do they would need to be aware of the original post. You don't really expect folks to match up 2 posts on 2 different boards? Nice little 1-man dog and pony show ya got goin' over here Iceman....hang in there little buddy, I'm sure a new thread will be starting in the next 10-14 days...
Btw, since you're so well connected, could you please ask them to stop putting the "NEW" icon next to reviews in the VIP section that were posted 90 days ago.
Well, gotta get back to TRB...
Dear Tahoe Ted,
Thank you for your words of encouragement and referring people back to your original post. As far as the "new" icon goes, that means the woman has never been reviewed here before: she is "new" to this board. As far as the date of the actual session goes, TER asks that you post reviews no older than 3 months.
So for example, I might have seen a provider 3 months ago, reviewed her today, and she would still have a "new" icon next to her name if she had never been reviewed here.
But in general, it's not about "being connected" because anyone can use the "report a problem" feature to update a provider's profile. Most often this is used for bad phone numbers, outdated URLs, name changes etc. The bonus for members is that we get membership time for each "problem" reported. So in a sense, the database is self-updating via member input, and we all help maintain the information. I'll go ahead and submit a "problem report" for any reviews whose "new" icon seems like it should no longer be there. Thanks for the heads up.
Yes, the threads are few and far between here, and it really is my show over here, but you know me, I've always been happy to listen to the sound of my own voice . But thankfully, the reviews are coming in nicely, and IMHO that is the true value of a "review" board. Besides, people have TRB and TBD for discussion. Hobbiests mostly come here for detailed and accurate review data, something unavailable on the other boards.
I hope things are going well for you on TRB. I must say, in spite of the fact that TRB usually doesn't have any good session information, you are the one shining exception to the rule. I very much enjoy reading your countless exhaustive reviews and excellent discussion points. In fact, I don't even read the forum anymore, I just type "Tahoe Ted" into the "quick search" function to get directly to your stuff. My one request would be to please SLOW DOWN! I already have a backlog of your provider reviews that I'm trying to get through. Would you consider limiting yourself to like a "weekly top 10", just to hit the highlights of your week? Sort of a "readers digest" version? That would really help me out. Thanks again!
Have fun, stay safe, and leave the lights ON!!
