No provider will see a client without having some screening, which is understandable. But I'm retired, so employment verification won't work, and have never seen a provider so I don't have references. Is there some alternative way I can be screened so I can see a couple of providers and finally be able to furnish references readily?

Hello, a lot of ladies offer meet & greets, where you meet in a public place for 15 mins to a half hour, to get acquainted. At that time, they may ask to see your ID to prove you are who you say you are. Most charge for a fee for their time anywhere from $100 to $200. If there is an appt made this fee is generally put towards the session. If there is no appt made, then the fee is strictly for the time the Provider took out of her day to meet you. Some Providers will also use Skype for a meet & greet.

Search around on this board and others. Lots on threads on those ladies that will help you get started. May need to spring for a meet and greet. Good luc

That is true only for the Providers that use P411. A lot of us don't use it, because it does not really provide all the info that we require.  

My experience only, P411 helped when I travelled across the US but was limited in many areas. Local boards always seemed better but harder to get verified. I let it lapse a while ago and have made out just fine.

I find it interesting that you note that many ladies don't use P411. I've found (and I've traveled all around the U.S.) the P411 is pretty much a godsend. I also try to establish myself on other more local boards as well, but as others have noted, it can be somewhat challenging. I'm curious what type of info can't be gleaned from P411 if you're a provider. Do you value more the personal vouch?

When a potential client contacts me with a P411 ID number the only thing the site provides me is a list of "okays". Okay for some Providers may not be what I consider okay. I would much prefer to have references from several Providers with professional ads or websites. I either email or call them and ask for a reference. I have never had a Provider unwilling to give me one. It is a common courtesy. As Hobbyist you guys have detailed reviews and photos so you have a really good  idea of who you are going to see, when you open your door. Us ladies on the other hand do not. A little bit of personal info makes me feel a lot safer, relaxed and ready for fun.
