YMMV and reviews

Ok, I was practicing my morning "ritual" of reading the new reviews of the ladies on my "favorites list" here when I stumbled across a review of a lady whom I haven't seen but whose pictures I like.  :)

Anyway, I was reading this review and the reviewer indicated his experience wasn't what he had expected and he felt "mislead" by the previous reviews and scores on her.

We often see the acronym "YMMV" when reading reviews but I'm wondering if people reading the reviews *actually* keep that in mind if using the reviews to help decide if they want to meet a given provider.  Considering most who read the reviews should know what "YMMV" means (this is purely an assumption based on nothing at all :) ), I'm rather shocked at the number of reviews I read where guys indicate they were "duped" by previous reviews.

I know I tend to skim the reviews rather than read them closely to get an overall idea of the kinds of experiences some of had.  Some of you erotic story writers do a better job of describing the experience than others which CAN lead to more erotic enjoyment of the story for me BUT I still read the review (albeit more closely in this case) with a grain of salt since I have no idea of what the reviewer's preferences or tastes are and I have no idea of how the reviewer and the provider "clicked", outside of what's written in the review.

So, when you read reviews do you always keep "YMMV" in mind or do you sometimes forget that and expect your experience to be the same or closely similar to the others' experiences if you liked what the others had experienced?

Sometimes I'll skim a review and be interested in experiencing the same experience I read about myself but if I do see that provider, I'll just see how things go and not expect the same as what I read.

Peace...

I would consider it if seeing a new girl for the first time but usually after reading a few of one girl you can see patterns.  Being clean, easygoing, and decent looking doesn't hurt either!

Ok, I can accept that but are you implying that perceived patterns can translate into expectations?

Peace...

My experiences have taught me, just like Olympic judging, you throw out the high and low score, and average the rest, and it will give you a really good picture of the provider.  I've been hobbying for about a year now, and have gone with the well-reviewed providers with a history of good service and a loyal following.  That means you'll spend a few bucks more, but the experience is pretty much a sure bet.

Also, a bad review followed by a couple of "Too Good To Be True" reviews is a sure sign of "doping" the results.
