I will be coming to town in a few weeks, and was thinking about seeing someone the night I arrive - but with flight delays, I wanted to wait to book after I am checked into my room.  What is the best way to do this?  Make tentative plans with an Independent, use an agency, spin the wheel on BP?  I should arrive by 10pm, and hopefully be in my hotel by 11pm, so it is not too late.  

What have others done?  

choose the lady/ladies you'd like to meet. Send them your screening information now so that it is out of the way. Tell them what you have told here about your trip and your arrival being possibly late with delays. If they are okay with it, prebook the lady you'd like to see, now.  
There is nothing worse than asking someone, "Are you available now?" question. No one sits and waits for a possible appointment twirling their fingers. We all have private lives, plans, etc., but if you prebook, she will be available for you and you don't have to search for last minute rush deals.  

I have had very late or very early appointments with pre-booking and there is nothing wrong with that but I am never available  last minute, and especially in an hour.  

By the way, that section of BP's shut down so forget about that option.
