to check in without proper ID..and do not even think about showing them a fake one. You can skip paying by credit card if you use a hotel gift card (Hilton and Hyatt have those) and give them a cash deposit for incidentals

You have to give them quite a bit of info, I'm virtually certain the check that info against public information and reject or request an ID if the can't verify.

Are there any decent hot tub places that might be suitable?
Been to the Grand Central Hot Tubs in San Jose a couple of times, not the greatest venue, some might find it indecent in a not-good way, I found it 'acceptable' - far from ideal.  Then there's Watercourse Way down in Palo Alto - looks better, haven't yet been there.

Never thought of that.  Watercourse Way in Menlo Park is great. Really nice sauna and hot tub rooms.   There's always a little bed/platform thing. Frankly, these places are for married people to get to have sex without the kids barging in, they'd be perfect for a hookup.
