As others have mentioned. The lines are blurry, but: - North of Palo Alto and South of San Francisco it's usually called "Peninsula" or "San Mateo [county]". - "East Bay" usually covers Fremont up to Richmond and Concord - "North Bay" is typically North of the GG and Richmond/San Rafael bridges.
