I appreciate TER and the community I've found here on a national level. But it's been hard to find the same kind of community here in the SF Bay Area. I understand many of the reasons why, but still, I think there must be individuals who use the TER reviews, I know there are many who submit reviews.

Help me out folks! For you few who do come through and at least read the board from time to time.

Give me some ideas for developing this struggling community.

Hey Riker, I didn't realize you were carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders alone up here.  Where's all of the creative thinkers and free spirits for which the Bay Area is so famous?  I thought this was San Francisco, not Sacramento.

OK ladies and gents, you're using this board like a bulletin board, not a discussion board and it's resulting in a monologue not a dialog.  Ladies, if you only avail yourself of this board to post an availability ad on your way to the airport, you aren't exactly creating any interest in who you are and why guys should see you.  Nor will you ever achieve an online  personna that can enhance your image.  Guys, if you only lurk or read reviews, you aren't ever going to develop a sense of community from shared experiences and the board will be boring.

The LA board has become successful, for example, not because we're egomaniacs and get off on seeing our names in print (OK, maybe a few), but because we have developed a sense of each other.  We share our adventures (both successes and failures, get familiar with the way the other guy thinks, and aren't afraid to put things out there to provoke a little discussion and even draw some debate.  AND, we have the good fortune of having many women contributing too, which gives us a balance and a different point of view on the issues that we all experience or at least think about.

But the main thing is a good board is active rather than passive, and that participation is what makes it dynamic.  There's a flow to it and a sense of continuity.  We remember that Needledick set his pubes on fire, for example, or that Zorro walked into an unexpected game of 20 questions with the wife unit after he got home from seeing a lady.  We will follow these and other events, and have some fun with them. These guys may be just an anonymous alias, but we share in their individual adventures because they post about them.  We learn from each other (VERY important in this game), give them a little sympathy or a little shit depending on what's warranted, and use each topic as a springboard for the next one.  After a while, a critical mass is achieved and the whole board just seems to self-energize.    

A steady diet of ISO posts gets pretty boring, and I've been to SF enough know that your city is anything but boring.  We know how society's attitude about sexuality has driven us underground, but this is the place where you can find like-minded people with whom you can commiserate.  So relax and have a little fun, post something you would have otherwise kept to yourself, and see what happens. Besides, you've got to give Riker some help so he can go out and have a little fun too.  

Plus, I am not sure whether a moderator can submit reviews anymore.

I have written the following response to a question about low attendance in NY board posted in the National board.  One of the NY member express his cynical views on a LA member's advocacy of the MontrealGirlFriends.com agency.  I believe my response can be easily apply to that of the SF board.

"There are indeed a lot of ads in the discussion boards from flake providers.  That's why messages posted by other hobbyists are important for the Regional boards.  The messages might be in the form of denouncing a provider as rip-offs; providing links to her reviews or websites or advocating or confirming the merit of a provider.  All these three functions have been provided by moderators one way or another.  It is also what makes regional boards valuable in spite of the National board.

In a way, advocating or confirming the merit of a provider is supplemental to a review.  It is a way to create dialogues and share good experiences with fellow hobbyists.  In order for a regional board to thrive, fellow hobbyists have to be willing to share info and participate in the dialogues.  It doesn’t have to be a heavy philosophical discussion as those recent threads in the National board.  Witness some of silly posts in the LA board."

Although TER has a strong competitor in SFRedbook, if we start provide info on local and visiting providers from the hobbyist's POV here, it will create interest among fellow SF TER members and make this SF board a must-see for SF hobbyist.

Coincidence: I was just talking about you yesterday, with a well-known, well-respected provider from your neck of the woods, who thinks the world of you! Your presence on the LA board has become renowned.  I can’t help but visit there from time to time, and participate in some of the strange and interesting exchanges that happen there.

The thing that I think is the coolest on the LA board, is the way you get to know some of the ladies. NOSC, PlaymateAshley and others, who regularly post on topics and have built their reputations, as well as their client-base by doing that. I totally agree with you, that when a provider shares her thoughts and let’s us get to know her a little bit, her popularity grows and so does the interest of all the gentlemen who read the boards, including those who are traveling here.

Thanks for the input. Your descriptions of the LA board and the characters on it gives me a little perspective on what the SF board could be, and what fun we could have with it.

Some food for thought

Some general observations as to why the SF discussion board is struggling:

1/  Serious competition from SF Red Book.

2/  Lack of variety on provocative discussion topics.  

3/  Economic conditions have dramatically reduced discretionary spending income for charitable contributions to one's favorite charity .

4/  General concerns about LE, and related activities.


Here are some ideas for generations more discussion among SF TER members ...

1/  Initiate a regular SF Chat for members.   Over a period of time, this will help in creating a strong community feeling where people trust/respect one another, share their views/experiences, and will feel more comfortable in using the SF discussion board to solicit ideas/suggestions.

2/  Weekly RIP-OFF and ROB alerts.  Riker, you know just as well as I do that there are so many ads on the webmalls that are deceiving, and dishonest.  For instance, take a look at these ads ...

Let's ensure SF TER members don't get taken for a ride.

3/  Now, this brings me to another point.   Let's be objective in our reviews. If your session is great -- that's fantastic.   Share the details as to why the session was fantastic.  

Also, it's beyond comprehension how a "bait & switch" artist, gets a performance review of 6!   Frankly, I think it is a rip-off.

4/  Let's stir things up by having provocative discussion on a broad spectrum of topics.  For instance, community events, musical festivals, great discounts on electronic eqipment or airfares, etc.

5/  Be vigilant in informing others of activities that might impact their hobbying.


Just some food for thought.

It is difficult for me to say anything that might be seen as an endorsement of any particular provider. I can't write reviews anymore either. Though the ones I have written still exsist.

Realizing that I haven't visited nearly enough providers to establish an All Time Favorite, the best I can do is have This Moments Favorite.

Unfortunately, my favorite at this stage is from out of town. By a strange coincidence, I don't know if GirlCrazy is talking about the same girl or not, but he did mention an out of the country agency. I have such a strong belief in supporting the local industry, for if we do not, the quality will decline and the selection will fall-off as well.

But I'll tell you why she's my favorite, and it's simple: passion. Of all the providers I've seen - and I have seen a quite a few - she's the one with the most passion. She's cute, and has the form that particularly appeals to me. 5'6", my preferred height, dirty blond hair, just like I like it, smallish and rock hard, all natural B cup breasts, just my cup of breast, and a nice roundish ass - a touch more ample than I'd prefer, but otherwise she's altogether sexy. A French-Canadian accent that is so sexy, it melts me.

But beyond the form, which is always a good place to start, she has, for me anyway, displayed a passion that I can't seem to find in the ladies here in SF. She's a great kisser. Kissing is my ATF. BBBJ, very rare in these parts.

But the passion isn't just about particular acts, either. It's about the connection and the open giving of herself, and that fact that a provider can enjoy herself with you.

A couple of locals tie for a close second, though there is no kissing or bbbj, they have a lot of heat and passion that they serve up with their beautiful dish.

Of course there are many ladies on my list that I just haven't gotten to yet. I'm particularly compiling a list of local kissers. If you have any for me to add, let me know.

You should share it on the National board.  

Riker, you are definitely MGF's favorite.  I have noticed that Alex quoted you in your TMF's web page.

I am sorry that your TMF (I think that is her) doesn't have a better time in LA.  Apparently her TER reviews was placed in the bad web link list the weekend before she arrived LA.  I tried to notify Staff of her permanent web page but it didn't get corrected until the eve of her departure.

The last 2 MGF LA tours are not very successful.  The first one suffered from the immediate impact of TBD's fallout.  The second one suffered from the big drops in Wall Street.  It seems like the latest one is getting a better response.  The heated exchanges stirred up by me and a buddy in the LA board on the issue of MGF created quite an interest.  And the rebound on Wall Street couldn't hurt either.

A few of us in LA are trying to promote business for MGF so that it will continue to tour our city in the future.  A success of SF - LA west coast tour will surely increase the frequency of their visits.

I spent the first part of the day with her. I'm still tingling.

Apparently I had a good time that day. Oh, the memories.

I remembered when I first met my ATF (the only one I gave perfect 10s), I could not stop giggling for several minutes.  I was just like a kid in a candy store.  I told her that I was the luckiest man in the world.  In a way, I am  Well, those were my girl crazy days.
