I am happy to offer a reference after a single meeting, although I may let the lady inquiring know that I've met the gentleman just once. The only other time I may balk slightly is if it's been an extended amount of time (ie >1 year) since I last saw him.  I may let her know so she can decided if she should request additional screening.  

I love P411.  It makes life easier for everyone I think.  On the other hand, I enjoy the personal contact I get with references.  Not that we're nattering about you and your handsome physique or manly ways *grin* -- but rather it's a way to 'meet' other girls & network a bit in an industry that can be isolating to the independent girl.

For the guys:  At which point do you feel asking a provider you've seen if she would be willing to serve as a provider reference for you?  Do you wait until you've seen her a few times or is one session enough?  

For the ladies:  At which point do you feel comfortable, if ever, serving as a reference for a client?  After the first session?  After the client has become a regular?

is when I'm travelling, so I rarely get to see the same lady more than once or twice. That, in itself, can suck, because I've seen some ladies that I'd love to see over and over and over. Back to the question...This is one of the reasons that I belong to Date-Check and Preferred411. It does make the screening easier for the ladies. There are a few ladies that I have only seen once or twice who will give me a reference, but I don't feel right asking.

Thanks for mentioning Date-Check!  A follow-up question for the ladies:  do you prefer sites, like Date-Check, for references or do you prefer other providers?

I recently went through a reference check.  Had no problems.  Gave several so the lady could check as time allowed her.  Also sent a picture of me after email contact and conversation.  I planned ahead about a week before meeting.  After all the check is to determine that your not a axe murderer or LE. Nothing more.

Sounds like you do reference checks the similar to me:

*)  Include a few references
*)  Sometimes send a photo

I have no problem providing references right after the first time.. I can get jealous though but it's Ok :)

Oh, please don't use the 'j' word around me.  I had a VERY awkward experience in the past that seemed to possibly involve the 'j' word but I never actually confirmed that.

What I did confirm is that situation involved far more drama than I needed in my life.  *sigh*
