Some TER members (including myself) have been known to attend M&G's in a nearby city. Las Vegas and LA, for example. Going to a nearby city is about our only option for San Francisco's lack of M&Gs.
They are usually relaxed venues for drinks, meeting and socializing, and exchanging contact information. Sometimes there are private parties afterwards, but not always. The quality of the M&G is usually a function of how well the organizer arranges things, and which ladies decide to show up. I've noticed that the best M&Gs have music and dancing, and plenty of ladies attend. Otherwise, they can be boring and end prematurely. Went to a couple M&Gs on the other local board with an ATF both times. It was fun and well organized, but less so than TERs. The best get togethers I have attended were in NYC and organized by some ladies there
That doesn't mean small get-together don't go on in the Bay Area. In fact if you read this board every once in a while someone asks for a provider who'd be willing to join them for an event there are attending. I know in SF there are swingers, gay, and orgy type events people can attend if they get invited or become a member. Such examples probably include: Power Exchange, Twist-SF, SF Citadel, Mission Control SF, Teatro Erotica & so on. I'm sure there are probably a very few on the other local board that have done small gatherings in certain parts Bay Area as well.

I understand that and I am a member of some of those clubs. I am not talking about getting together with a client at a swingers club but big events where people meet for lunch or drinks and socialize and exchange information, as in some other cities.
I'm certainly not an expert in any regard but big events where providers and clients meet together I think it's more than fair to say, no they don't happen.
One partial reason could be that people are scattered all over, from as up north to Santa Rosa, all the way east to Sacramento, and as far south to Santa Cruz/Monterrey. Another valid reason, mentioned in the thread I linked, is that at least one person would have to go out of their way to organize it. Since other events, like Lolita's Lusty Adventures & other similar gatherings I listed, exist that could be another partial reason. On the local board I remember someone wrote they've meet people at these types of events and have exchange information that way
