Guys I need help I'm lost in SFO already!! When I posted my ad for my visit to SFO this coming Tuesday, they asked me what area in SFO I would stay, so they asked me if it will SFO East or West or SFO Bay etc etc.. see for me everything is SFO and like any other city there is a downtown and that's it, all I know is that I will stay around Union Station Area, so is that a bad area to stay? what's the best area in terms of safety and easy access for everybody? I really want to make this trip enjoyable for everybody so i can leave the city singing "I left my heart in SFO" hahaha!

Hi Kianna,
For people in the S.F. bay area. If you mention SFO it is considered to be the airport.
I am assuming you meant to say that you will staying near the Union Square area. It's a nice enough area. Depending on where in the area you are staying, it could start to become a bit sketchy, as it borders the the Tenderloin area. I hope that you will enjoy your stay here.

like I say.....Union Square EAST! not WEST! And you'll be free of the tenderloin. That's the way Hotwire sets it up.

I would love to meet you, unfortunately, can't at this time. Just had surgery on my knee.

One more bit of advice. Stay away from 6th and Market street(s). As amatter of fact avoid 6th street unless you are in a car.

Yes, you can get to the Downtown/Union Square area using the train or Bart. The main train station is located at 4th and Townsend. About a mile driving from Union Square. Bart will drop you off within a block or 2 of Union Square. But, Bart would not be a option, if I did not know where I was going. That is only my opinion.

Good luck and have fun.

I've had a ton of good times staying in the Hotels South of Market recently.

Nice hotel bars, great clubs and just overall good fun (The Gold Club strip club is right next to the W Hotel!!)

Palomar, Vitale (sp), W, Westin Market, Intercontinental....tons of good safe places to stay in all budget brackets.
