Planning a quick trip to San Francisco.... anyone could recommend places to stay (provider friendly:if any), I am already checking some areas of interest and sightseeing but any tips would not hurt :)

Most of the advice I have gotten is Union Square, SoMA area, and there's a lot of interest/clientele in San Jose as well. I'm sure other locals will have much more insight!! Wish we were going together!!
