Most assuredly not wanting to stir anything up, but I'm genuinely curious about the appeal.

The appeal for me personally, is that I get the acceptance of a woman to let me cover her most visual and attractive part of her body.  When I look at a woman, her face is the first thing that catches my eye.   It's also what the public sees.
