As previous poster said, trolling in Oakland is dangerous, as LE WILL confiscate your car permanently if you are, in the opinion of the cop on-scene, soliciting for prostitution.

That in mind, there are two strips:

One is SPA, or San Pablo Avenue from 30th street in Oakland to north of Gilman Ave in Berkeley. Usually pretty slim pickins here Lotsa crack whores, lotsa fat heroin bitches. Mostly black or wore out white. Once in a while a good one, but rare. SPA can be hit from the Gilman Ave. exit off I-80 or the 27th St. exit off  Rte 980.

The other is E.14th, recently re-named International Blvd, between 5th and 55th Avenues, with most of the activity concentrated around Fruitvale. Get off Rte 880 at 16th Ave., take the overpass to go back over to the east side of  880. Turn right when you get to Intl/Ea. 14th. Much better choices here--from used up to new on the street.

Play safe, and keep your head on a swivel, esp. if you aren't used to recreational activities in high-crime, impoverished areas. And remember, if you see the same cop twice, they've seen you twice; find a tacqueria to leverage a legit reason to be in the area.
