Are there any providers out there that would be okay with me taking some pics during the session? Just for my own personal use. Or is that just a plain dumb request?

It really depends on the provider and your relationship with her.  I've had some refuse to allow taking photos and some who have no problem with it at all.

My advice is to not make a big deal out of it.  Try to get a sense if she would be open to it and ask her in a respectful manner. Explain they would be for personal use only, etc.  Here's the important part:  if she declines the request, DO NOT MAKE AN ISSUE OUT OF IT!  If she refuses, drop the subject and let it go.

Another approach might be to wait to ask until the third or fourth session with her.  Become a regular and give her a chance to get to know you a little bit.  That might increase her trust level such that she will allow you to take the photos.

Lastly, if she does allow you to take photos, DO NOT POST THEM ONLINE or share them with anyone unless SHE is ok with that. If you tell her you're taking the photos for "personal use only" and then show them to a lot of people or distribute them, that would be hurtful to her and would ruin your ability to take more photos of her in the future.

Of course, you could always do this with providers who advertise a willingness to allow photos in their ads.

Good luck!
