was a favorite of mine. I'm big on country and western and Johnny Cash is one of my favorites. I thought Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon did a splendid job of a character's transformation of the up and down's of fame of fortune. Plus they sang the songs and were darn good.
Did you see "Woodstock" last summer? That was pretty good too, though the story may be disputed, it is still funny.
was it called Round Midnight? Also The Rat Race with Tony Curtis and Debbie Reynolds and any of those wacked out Ken Russell biopics from the 70s. And LBNL Yankee Doodle Dandy and BIRD
I absolutely LOVE Cameron Crowe films, because he's always got the best soundtracks. His wife, Nancy Wilson, formerly of Heart, does a lot of his soundtrack work.
Danny Elfman kind of surprised me, going from frontman of Oingo Boingo to a respected film scorer.
I don't know and I'm too lazy to Google it, but whomever works with Martin Scorsese is also amazing. His films kind of pioneered the soundtrack as being as evocative in a film as the visuals. Casino is one of my favourites, in that respect.
But if you are looking for fave musician and composer, Yo-Yo Ma is my fave musician and John Williams is my fave film composer.
