From a personal stand point. I don't think there should be any guidlines, except the person is kind and not a jerk.
From a hobbyist/dabbler stand point. I think you would want an experinece with someone that wants to be with you and is comfortable. I did have a friend who would not see black clients, due to a traumatic episode earlier in life. Where as I don't agree with that. It wouldn't make since for her to put herself in a situation she wasn't comfortable. It would be a bad experience all the way around. Thats my 2 cents...if it helps.
The only thing that takes he wind from ym sails are guys or girls that want to sit and talk abou tthe biz. I have better things in mind.
Recently a member of the Boston board community posted regarding his frustration with a local agency. According to the poster, he was refused services because he is black. Other threads relevant to this topic have appeared this week on the Florida, Boston, Atlanta and National boards.
This topic goes beyond the issue of racism. Some would say that providers should see everyone. We know that, realistically, this is not the case. Some ladies impose age restrictions or weight or other restrictions related to physical appearance as well as race restrictions. What is the answer?
A. See everybody or get out of the business.
B. The other restrictions are okay but restrictions based on race are not.
C. It’s her body; she can impose whatever restrictions that she feels necessary.
D. The answer is C but she must tell us about it upfront.
E. [Your solution]
This is a hot button topic without question. Take a look at the existing threads.

I would also go with answer C, I dont want to be with anybody who has reservations about me because of my race.
The problem I have is when they(providers who exclude clients becasue of race) are constantly present on the boards preaching from their soapbox about the business, love and life like they are not flawed, and then you have hobbyists and other providers who constantly support them like they are the freaking Ghandi.
In case nobody has told you........I will, you are a RACIST. THERE IS NO GRAY AREA, its pretty simple if you exclude somebody solely based on race you are a racist so you can join Ty Cobb, Bobby Jones, Strom Thurmond, George Halas and a host of others who seem to think their celebrity gave them some type of pass.
This is an old story that has been discussed many times on many boards. The fact remains that the provider has a right to refuse service to anyone for whatever reason. Is it fair? Is life fair? Not much to discuss really. Pretty much an open and shut case.
Much of life is unfair by its nature but American racial inequity is due to the will of its citizens. For example the racial unfairness in America was preached (and still is) by many Churches, taught in schools, and enfored by law.
Life is unfair because some people like it that way. Take Essie Mae Washington-Williams the Black daughter of well known Conservative author of the "Southern Manifesto" who argued for the "separate but equal" principle, Strom Thurmond. Now Essie Mae only meant her father once. Is this because of some universal unfairness or was it because her father hated Blacks so much he couldn't stand to see her? Should we say "Oh well That's his choice".
There is sometime to discuss. First the question. Should the provider say something upfront? Second, why do people think like this?
hello onehiphippy,
If a provider is racist, I don't want to be with her. Coz I don't like that kinda provider. disgusting...Also.. we have to leave it as her choice. what else you do? we can't fight it out in the open due to the nature of the biz. there are so many providers.. we should just pass them. Thats why being upfront will save our time and money.
cyberian
Why would I want to be with someone who was appaulled at my physical appearance? Minus the rash on my ass....
jk
Seriously, she should be upfront about it because I am investing time and money setting up an appointment with her, and sometimes the cost of a hotel room. If she shows up and decides to cancel because she doesn't like me, she should have to foot the bill for my opportunity costs (like that would ever happen -- when sha and monkeys fly out my rashed ass!).
We can't force upon any girl to see any particular type of person. Its her choice. But being rejected fort race is hurtful for the person involved. So I would suggest that the providers with any ethnic preferences, let them mention it in their profile itself (just like a dating website). This way the client knows this in advance and can contact another provider and avoid being hurt. Just my thoughts....

In the begining I would see everyone. But, when too many problems came up, I said to myself forget it! I will not see certain ethnic people anymore. Call me a racist, I don't care. I just know one thing, I don't have anymore problem people on my hands.
Anyone has the "right" to select a person they want to be with, and attach as many criteria as they want... but of course, it would be easier for both parties that she be upfront.
Additionally, this "right" should also consider the 'disease' factor: certain diseases are more prevalent among certain ethnic groups than others... for example:
a) Blacks: herpes is disproportionately higher in the black population than the white (for you PC dummies, this means there is a higher percentage of blacks with the disease than whites, ad this was NEVER a government conspiracy). This is a strong reason why I would never see a black chick, unless she has clean bill of health backed up with a current blood test.
b) mescans: hepatitis A/B is almost common place in mesco and among hispanics, particularly among the illegals (this does NOT get reported in the press, but is a more important reason to seal the borders than to "save" american jobs). Herpes is also quite rampant in mesco. When I lived in latin america for a short while, more half of the people I met complaining about little aches and pains (typical symptoms of hepatitis), they would casually attribute it to their hepatitis... it is important to note this trivial treatment was due to its pervasiveness. YIKES!!
c) Caucasians (eastern europe): Now, for you PC idiots and "issuers" of the race card, I will "equate" things a bit... diseases like herpes is rampant in eastern europe. So if any of you go to eastern europe (do you remember a post by that guy who got infected on a 'Viking' cruise?) to hook up with a slender, model like babe (for very cheap), be careful! Herpes is everywhere, especially in the poorer parts of eastern europe. This is one of the reasons why I was NEVER hooked by the 'hotel' ladies.
As an example that takes it to an extreme (which is not so far out of the question given our unreasonable political correctness on ALL issues anymore)... are we going to start to be so insensible so as to question a person at the altar for marrying someone of their own race? Are we going to badger them and claim they are racist? I HOPE NOTE!
Ness, please crawl back into the hole from wence you came. I am shock that any self-respecting Mormon such as yourself could pander such drivel. Oh, excuse me...that's right,...Mormons are not considered real Christians after all, are they?. You are lucky that Ms. Elise is not around. She'd flatten your ass in a nanosecond!
You can't just throw out those statements w/o at least giving some facts for where they came from, unless they're only your opinion or purely anecdotal. There was a recent alarming study that showed blacks and latinos were being infected with HIV at a much higher rate than the rest of the population, but I have never seen the same statistics about herpes or hepatitas. Also, are you sure about the infection rate of hep B (or C for that matter) in Latin American countries? I can see hep A being higher because of sewage and water treatment problems, but why B and C? Your points will have more credibility if you show where you came across your facts when you put forth outragous or extreme viewpoints. It also gives the impression that you may have an agenda when you use terms such as "Mescan" repeatedly.
It’s great to see others standing up to the racist ignorance of a closed minded individual. Thanks to you 2 gentlemen, there is no need for me to comment on that nimrods statements. For the record, about 90% of all statistics are misquoted. Of those, 67% are misquoted by individuals that never took the time to look up the figures. 50% (That’s almost half) of statistics tossed out into the world are pure BS. Yes, I just pulled those figures out of my butt. LOL. Have a great day everyone.
Gordo, your points are well taken, and I appreciate the fact that you did not come out attacking personally. However, playing devil's advocate is too easy, and you cans earch the web/libraries all day and come up with strong evidence to support the general guidelines pointed out.
But my bone of contention with you (and others that post like this) is as follows:
Just as you point out what you perceive to be a flaw in my posting, why don't you give yourself some of the same 'credibility' medicine and counter this gloriously stupid and flawed posting by 'qp'? Where did I say I was a mormon (just because I lived in Utah) and where did I say I was a 'born again' because I also lived in Tenessee, and where did I say I was a catholic because I lived in latin america/san diego?
Until you do, you can't state that you are fair minded.
