This is unbelievable, I got this email the other day. Can you say a scam or what. They even try to target us providers. LOL. But here is the email. Let me know what you guys think and if there are other girls out there that got this same email or something like it let us know.

Hello sweets,

I appreciate your quick response.I was marvelled by your statistics and i am looking forward with great interest to be by your side.I will make sure this happens and not just a mere fantasy.I will call you as soon as i can as i am currently on a business trip in singapore .I am an oil dealer based in cambodia though the nature of my work makes me more of a traveller.

There is an international conference coming up that i am billed to attend.I'll be in the US in the morning of saturday the 16th of April.I would like us to make this day our appointment day but should you not available, then we can set up another day.I will travel to your location and arrange for a standard hotel to lodge in for the day to cut down the travel expenses that would be incurred if you had to travel. The International conference i'm coming for is billed to hold on tuesday the 19th day of April as i will then need to check out of  your city/state first thing on monday morning to take care of business.

I'll be travelling without any cash in hand but with my credit facilities as i do not like to go on long trips with cash for security reasons.Consequently,i would make sure that your payment being our agreed sum would have been taken care of before my arrival to secure the day of appointment as i've already planned my schedule and trip.I am pretty sure you will find me to be a very loving person.I want to have you around for 6hrs brings the donation to about $1,800 because i don't want to be too lonely during my visit. We can decide our to spend our time when the time is right.

I would therefore instruct my client in the US to issue a certified bank check in US funds which would clear for cash in 24hrs prior to my arrival. The funds would reach you 2 days before my arrival to show my committment in our meeting.I know you will never regret spending your time with me.Please furnish me with the name as it should be on the payment, detailed forwarding address and phone number to complete your payment process and have your funds set up and sent to you in due time.

Once i hear from you in this regard,i'll get back to you asap to let you know.I will call you soon sweetbaby.

I will wait to hear from you again baby.

Sam young.

I think this is just too funny.

I get three or four a day. I usually ask them to send a few hundred dollars as a show of their good faith. On others I tell them that they need to get a richer dead guy because I just had three better offers.

Here's a website that gets even with these scammers

www.419eater.com

You're probably on target with your thoughts about this request.  However, there's an slim chance (very slim) that "Sam young" is legit.  Unless you ommitted portions of this message, there isn't the telltale request for any personal information from you, like your bank account number (always a dead giveaway).  You might tentatively set up the appointment and wait to see if the promised cash arrives like he promised, 24 hours ahead of the proposed appointment.  If it doesn't show up, or if he requires that you provide your bank information, you can always cancel.

It could just as easily be LE, trying to entice you with a large sum of $$$$.  Anyway, be careful out there, you never know who's at the keyboard on the other end of the line!

I received the same letter signed with the same name two months ago. I deleted it for obvious reasons! :)

Megan

PS I wonder if anyone HAS fallen for this. I hope not.

on a semi-related note, some A-hold in nigeria hacked on to a site i use and tried to buy a cell phone with my credit card

Hey AuroraIvy.  If you are tired of the Nigerian scam letters look at the site http://www.ebolamonkeyman.com/  these guys actually answered these spam letters and pretended to go along with the scam.  In the end they request real photos from the scammers holding up a sign with names like Mr. Bukkake, Mr. I love cocky sucky.  It is just too funny to read the responses.

I've gotten dozens of these nigerian letters...but none have called ME baby!  HA!

And he didn't even offer you the 40% of his late uncle's %50,000,000 for your bank account information.  What a cheapo !!

This scam has been around a long time.  I recall that I started getting emails like this two years ago and they continue to spam me with them.  I bet that if we all compare notes they're of  similar context and originate from Africa or South Africa.  Can you imagine this... out in the jungle in the some remote village in a third world country, these scammers have got internet access shooting spam messages to all those gullible people in the Western World!  ...and quite possibly have duped them into this?  It's amazing how far technology has taken the con artist!!!
