Isn't Roy Williams the UNC basketball coach?
I am sure this will spark some opinions.
SD has a football team???
Anybody remember the San Diego Rockets?!?
I used to have one of their basketballs and a T-shirt!
What a great memory from being a kid!

I mean, that woulda been a baby tee! ![]()
I remember going to a Clippers game against the Celtics right after the Clips got Bill Walton. He must have seen something he liked in green during that game.
But I remember stuff from when I was four years old...
What years were the San Diego Rockets here? And that T-shirt fit me when I was in elementary school... My mom took it away when it got rattlesnake blood on it. (Great camping story!)
My dad was a Lakers fan from back when they actually played in the land of the lakes.... I was talking with him about Elgin Baylor and Bill Russell on Sunday. Anyway, he pulled my little self along. Lucky me!

I think the Rockets were her from 69 through 73 or 74, if I am not mistake. The clips came in 77.
I got interested in the NBA in 1972, watching Hondo Havlicek and the Celtics. And guess which team I hate more than any? That's right. :P
Anyone know Tonya Harding's numer so I can have her whack Kobe on the kneecap?
I pity that rattlesnake. ![]()
Elise,
I remember the Rockets, and Lance Alworth and #11 Enzo Hernandez.
Geez, am I dating myself!
Tricky Ricky
Remember the Padres announcer at SD Stadium (soon to be SDJM Stadium and then Qualcomm) doing Enzoooooooooooo Herrrrrrrnaaaaaannnnnnndezzzzzzzzzzz as he came to the plate. That was fun. BTW,nice whooping put to the Giants tonight by our Padres.
I remember the San Diego Rockets. My dad used to take me every now and then. Horrible team, no fan support but I loved to watch Elvin Hayes and Calvin Murphy. Anyone remember Rudy Tomjonavich as a SD Rocket? Damn, that seems like a lifetime ago.
I had mixed feelings on what the Chargers should do with the number one pick. Should they put all the eggs on eone basket and take Eli Manning or should they trade down and get a decent QB and try to fix some other problems.
Well, with the news today that WR Roy Williams will not be included with this weekend's draft and will have to wait for the supplemental draft I think that the Chargers now should go for Eli Manning. Because they also have the number one pick for the supplemental draft and can get Roy Williams, who could possibly go as high as number one in this draft!
This would give Eli someone he can throw to!
What do you other football/Charger fans think?
I don't think you can go wrong with a Manning.
However, I feel the Chargers should draft Robert Gallery out of Iowa. The game is won in the trenches. Getting a powerful run blocker will compliment LT's skills.Combined with the return of Finoti's health the bolts can make some noise.
Further, the drafting of an O-lineman will hopefully make the bolts emphasize the run more. Running the ball controls the clock and will keep that young\piss poor defense off the field. I think 40 minute time of possesion will greatly help the team.
My only concern with Gallery is the tony Manderich issues, Steroids. make sure he is clean and that his power is all natural. If their is any history of steroid use grab Eli Manning.
I hadn't heard of ROY Williams being excluded from the draft. Are you confusing him with MIKE Williams, the underclass WR out of USC? He and maurice Clarrett have been denied entry to the NFL.
Yeah, it is Mike Williams, damn, I was getting excited for nuthing.
Isn't Roy Williams the UNC basketball coach?
Isn't Roy Williams the UNC basketball coach?
Yes Roy Williams is the UNC basketball coach...
There is a WR out of Texas named Roy Williams.
There is a WR out of USC named Mike Williams.
There is another WR from Washington named Reggie Williams.
All are top WR's.
Mike is just a sophmore and declared for the draft. Something with the Maurice Clarrett situation prevented Mike W. from entering the NFL. This is bad luck for Mike W cuz his grades suck and so can't go back and play for his college team. Plus an attitude problem.
Actually, the Chargers are not guaranteed the first pick in the supplemental draft. They are one of 13 teams that have fewer than 6 wins (I think) who are then put into a lottery to determine the order of picks.
Regardless, they will probably pick some stiff who will be out of the league within 2 or 3 years.
Another bitter Dolts fan.
Have you all forgot Andre Lecroix and the San Diego Mariners? Jumpin' Joe Junkin? or "Saaaaaave, Ernie Wakely!" THAT was good hockey! Who was that curly haired enforcer?
as he is telling Eli to "Go East, young man".
