Downtown is best. Mission Valley is cheaper but touristy.

Stay downtown.  Avoid Mission Valley.

parking is much better than downtown

Depends on the hotel.  Downtown hotels do offer parking, often times for a fee.  I've been to a few where I had to find street parking, which is sometimes metered parking.

Carmel Valley/Del Mar has easy hotel access.

Also consider possibly renting a vacation rental for the week.  Sometimes that's cheaper than a hotel for the week....and it makes parking much easier (and low key).

Even if u stay a downtown hotel Kat, you will normally pay a parking fee each night. Also some hotels on Harbor Island, and Mission Bay are like that.
I hobby often, but never see a girl who incalls downtown due to parking.

I have no issue with paying for parking, but its the potential paper trail it leaves if it's a credit card only lot.
IMO a good hostess understands the situation at her incall and gives her clients a heads up on what to expect or a good place to go.

I've seen a number of ladies downtown and I don't have an issue with paying for parking.

I don't know what your plans are for your time here, but downtown offers a lot of options and if you want to see the sights and experience all that this beautiful city offers. If you've got a rental, getting around is easy.

Unless the goal is to be off the beaten track, avoid staying in Carmel Valley. It is not near the beach, east of the I-5 in fact, and is in no way central unless one lives or works there. Downtown meets all the criteria, close to the harbor and beaches, great restaurants and bars, accessible.

Carmel Valley is 5mins from the beach in Del Mar or Torrey Pines
