Which Sites Can/Can't be Referenced in Reviews?

As far as I can see, a web ad or personal site is a required item in a review (? is this correct?).  But when I tried to use an ad on a particular site (Initials C V), it was rejected. So, does TER only allow certain sites? Can someone point me to a list of sites allowed/not allowed, or provide info on this?
Thank

Nobody can give you a list of suites you can't name, because they can't name them! You also asked this on the newbie board and I answered you there. Basically any "competing" site (i.e. site that has reviews) can't be mentioned on TER.

Thank you, very useful. Though surely you could find ways to mention other sites - in fact you did yourself on the "newbie" board (where I did not post, got moved).

The sites I mentioned on the newbie board are sites you CAN mention, not sites you CAN'T mention.

if you are a VIP and have mail (which I only have when I write reviews because I don't see the need). This site has an auto filter that basically does not allow a post with a reference to a competing site ( which perfectstorm is correct and defined as a review site). You can only reference to ad or websites. Although I did notice they relaxed that filter in some way when the site with lots of previous traction in the CV and Northern CA was taken down by the feds. I think that likely had more to do with business reasons and seeing how things shook out in  light of the fact that they, in fairly sort order, added a CV and Central Cost regional board here (which are both unfortunately horribly inactive).

I think I used the exact same examples as you.
Still it is much easier to just say sites with reviews are not allowed. Sites without reviews are allowed. :)

But there is no auto filter. It is all manually done. Admin reads posts and sometimes edits out "offensive sites" and sometimes removes entire posts. Sometimes they miss them, but someone uses the RAP feature. As to reviews it's the same. Staff members read and approve reviews. They will be disapproved if the ad link goes ro a disallowed site. Sometimes things slip through, then they get fixed when someone sends in a problem report.
