I've been kind of lurking on this board for many years and don't post much. But I have to say I really think one person is terrorizing this board and some of its members-either directly or through the use of aliases.
I hope whomever watches this board sometimes from TER does something to put a stop to it. No wonder this board has gone to hell. Just my worthless opinion- peace out

Great. Was considering dipping my tootsies in the pond, as I LOVE beautiful S.D. Despise drama though, but maybe being one of those "Mature providers", translation: "Old Broads/Dames/insert-your-label-here types, perhaps I'll be dismissed as a

as you may or may not realize, there are no longer regional board moderators. It was one of the changes the new management made when they took over. So if you don't beleive a post is appropriate, the only way to have it removed is to use "report this post"

Here are NINE very acceptable reasons for the use of an alias.
Use of topical humor when the alias enhances the humor
The creation of a character(literary license) to be used in an informative, fun, innocuously sarcastic, philanthropic, as well as topical way.
Anonymity for when regional or associational sensitivities may be of concern, particularly when there are members out there who will harass you on the boards when you disagree strongly with them.
Innocuous playing of "devils advocate" in a discussion or debate where one wishes to not be further/future aligned with one faction or the other. If you look at the GD Board, there are providers who have flat out stated that they won't see someone based on some of their posts. Why would any guy take the chance.
Avoidance of suffering political fallout for a comment that may have been wrongly construed in a possibly volatile discussion. Some of these regular posters are hyper-sensitive, and also don't read the whole post before going ballistic.
Posting investigative reports, meet & greet announcements, helpful advice, or other similar types of useful information where the use of a user-name could prove problematic or open the poster up to incessant PM's and questions.
Concerns in revealing your review history. This is a big one when you are posting about a particular provider that you are not going to name. In those situations, you open ALL of your reviewed providers to the public guessing who you are talking about. It's not fair to the others.
Ability to contribute where you would otherwise feel embarrassed to speak candidly. Some are just too shy, but will post under an alias.
To avoid a google search turning up your review history. Some of these guys only post in alias for this reason.
* This means if you post as an alias you can not also post as your regular account on the same blog.
** Only YOU can assist in the removal of people abusing an alias (as in for drama). Report people who are just being plain rude or name calling. We can make the SD board fun and drama free. I feel the alias thing is useless for ladies unless they want to shit talk. I think guys need the alias like if they need to write a review without backlash or so an ATF doesn't know they are seeing new people.
Terrorizing? Really? Kind of a strong term don't you think? Would you rather this be like the OC Board - where we sit dormant for days if not weeks? Somewhat if we get to watch MP and GK joust now and again? At least there's life here!
I'm with you. At least these two wonderful females add some spice to the board. Nothing wrong with some people agreeing to disagree as long as nothing gets out of hand, and noone says anything offensive. I enjoy the cut and thrust of a good duel.

Bud - review aliases are there for a reason and we all use them. I'm not about to out my alias to you or anyone else. If you think I'm the one "terrorizing" this Board then I think that is laughable. You want terror? Go post on the GD Board and see what hostility feels like.
Our little community here is just fine. In fact, if you're not happy with the tone, try participating instead of lurking. Or, hit ignore and I'll go away and you won't have to worry about me one bit. All I would ask in this PC Crazed world is for you to be more careful with terms like "terrorize" lol. Nothing we do here comes close.
As far as whether or not I'm MP, of GK, or someone else - I'll say this. Folks with just a little bit of savvy have figured out by the nature of my posts who I am. They've PM'd me - and I've acknowledged it. What that tells me, is that I am not particularly stealthy in my posts - and that my style of writing and the words I choose give me away. So in the end, the people that matter know who this is - and the rest just don't pay attention apparently.
You would think, how uptight we all act, that we need to get laid. I would think here more than anywhere else, that wouldn't be a problem.

I can say everything I want to as myself & would be happy to say it to anyone's face too! I am honest & have always been straightforward, so either appreciate my candor, or you don't. This board has lost me for sure if you think it maybe me...
wtf? I have better things to do with my time, than entertain unwanted drama. I am disappointed in many of the members immature actions on this board. My life is great! People fail to realize this is a hobby for me just, like you fellas...

I don't see the SD Board as being a inhospitable place. There is no name calling. No one is getting flamed. Anyone can still advertise, hook up, and do whatever. I'm on other Boards where ladies virtually fight each other in posts and do everything they can to stop one another from getting calls. Guys throw around name calling and accusations like its going out of style. On the GD Board you can get flamed one day for being a WK and the next day for being a misogynist - on the same thread!
Maybe we're all overreacting a little bit? In a pluralistic society, isn't the presentation and discussion of different viewpoints - exactly the point? If we're all as mature as we say we are - why can't we engage, sometimes even heatedly so - in a public debate - instead of simply taking our ball and going home where we're appreciated?
Maybe I'm wrong. But I appreciate the life on the SD Board and I think by and large it's quite civil. If Raincoat and I want to go 12 rounds - to the amusement of others - who's to say that's wrong? If 4outa5doctors wants to joust - I'm game. And MP you have to admit - you and GK just won't leave well enough alone. I for one find it entertaining. Trust me if this becomes a sanatized Stepford wife version of a public forum then I for one won't be particularly interested.
In the end I guess that's the beauty of it - if you like the vibe of the SD Board, stay and be engaged. If you don't - well it's a free market economy and there are plenty of other options out there.

I didn't know this was rocket science that took years of training to master? This board is like a soap opera on TV. You don't watch it for awhile and when you come back not much has changed. Yes I think I am qualified to comment on the hobby. What greater knowledge does someone who has seen more providers or seen providers more recently have that I don't? Is there some new technological advances that providers are using that I missed? Is money different now than it was before? Has the way one schedules an appointment changed? Please don't waste my time with your gibberish.

Many years ago, I love to cruise this board, post, comment or just follow threads. back then, people posted often and the topics were usually light in nature, but still had occasional drama. Nothing major though. I came back here a few months ago and it appeared as though it died. There were so few posts compared to what it once was. It's been a while since I've seen the use of an alias. Granted, I haven't looked for it either. I'm sure we each have our own opinion as to why someone uses an alias. It's meaningless to me if someone feels the need to hide their original moniker while commenting. Do yourself a favor and don't take anything on here seriously. It's a waste of time and energy. No need to let Skippy live rent free in your brain while you live your life. Try to remember that this is just a discussion board on the internet. While it's far superior to the heavily moderated other local board, it's still just a forum where people share information and express views. No need to blow a gasket over a bad apple or two.
