Feel for you.  I lucked out in that the former didn't want him. Since I consider him a family member more than just a pet, I wouldn't dare think of giving him up.  He's been my constant companion for the last 10 yrs.  Like your dog, he's a great dog and loves women.  Just wish I had more time to give him.

Dogs are great.  Treat them with gentle love and they repay you with undying loyalty and devotion.  Sorry to hear you are losing yours.  Any chance of visiting rights?  Seriously I've heard of that happening with some exes.

Joint or full custody no joke I've watched several neighbors do it.  Why don't you take him? He'll be heartbroken without you.

I know a couple who stayed together for their dog. I am not kidding!

My Lab is in very serious condition. He has cancer which has gone into his lungs. A couple times we thought we lost him, but he hangs on. I'm watching for his suffering, but when he get to his worse, he remarkably bounces back and wants to play ball. I'm going to enjoy every minute left with him I can.
