I had previously posted a retirement at the end of Dec 2003. Unfortunately, I did not calculate things correctly and my other business has not taken off as I had previously projected.
I will continue to be seeing new clients until April 2004. call me directly 619-628-6953
Failure: in my book means .............I tried ! I took a risk and did not quit. I will continue to pursue the business however it will take more planning and strategizing as well as money to make sure my product is placed correctly in todays market. I have a superior product and an untapped market I will not give up I just need to figure out a means of advertising with in my budget. I know I will succeed it is just going to take a little longer thats all.
Mara - I don't know you - never met you. I will tell you that you have got the right attitude. I am going thru a similar circumstance with a start-up and will see it thru. Keep fighting - it WILL happen!
Actually, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration website:
"Two-thirds of new employer firms survive at least two years, and about half survive at least four years. Owners of about one-third of the firms that closed said their firm was successful at closure. Major factors in a firm’s remaining open include an ample supply of capital, the fact that a firm is large enough to have employees, the owner’s education level, and the owner’s reason for starting the firm in the first place, such as freedom for family life or wanting to be one’s own boss."
The 90% in one year failure rate is a very common misconception, and it is incorrect. Here's a link to the Small Business Administration FAQ (lots of good statistics/info).
Mara, Failure is never having tried anything!!! From a purely selfish standpoint, it gives me a couple more months to open up a window to FINALLY actually get together with you!
You go girl and keep trying and plugging along and from everything I have read about you it WILL happen!!!!
