How on earth do you delete an unwanted second page of a "WORD" document??!!!

I always thought if you highlight the space on the second page- there witll be at least one character space- and then delete it, then hit the "home" or top button, the page should go away. good luck. gc

If all else fails, try slightly decreasing the bottom and/or top margins in page setup.

This is the right answer.  Delete anything after the last character you want to keep.  Highlight it all and hit the delete key and everything will be fine.  No need to hit the home key even.

How indecent of a word processor can MS Word be? I figure once you learn how to get any program to do what you want it to do, then it's decent.

Now when you find a new program that can save you time or money, then it's time to upgrade.

FOR THE ORIGINAL POSTER:
You also could have copied your text to a new Word document
highlight your text
copy it (CTRL-C)
open a new document (File>New)
paste your text to the new document (CTRL-V)
now save your new document as version 2
I know this is more work, but there may have been something on page 2 that you wanted to keep.

I'm assuming you noticed this page 2 when your printer spat out a blank 2nd page each time you printed. To avoid this you can:
CTRL-P
select "print page 1 only"
OK

Your comments are on point on using what works for you. However, because Word has no "reveal codes" feature as does WordPerfect, you have intrinsically less control of the output. WordPerfect also provides complete typesetting controls, and allows me to do complicated scientific tables with precise spacing; something which is excruciating for me to do in Word.

One pleasant side effect of using WordPerfect is that you are less exposed to the "macro" viruses that populate the Word/Excel world.

If Word works for you, that's great. However, as Bill Gates moves closer to the day when we'll all have to pay monthly licenses (through the notorious, misbegotten "product activation" scheme) to use "HIS" software, I look forward to the day when the Microsoft axis is broken.
