As usual, the point made was missed.

they ran a spot about the "oldest profession goes online" sounds like the pd needs "public outrage" to get more money.  well i dont' know if i will see it but i'm sure it will not be good for us...

They did the same story about 2 weeks ago.............It's an election year, what can you say?
OH! by the way..........All the gang bangers and serious criminals are now in custody! SO don't worry, it is good to go after the providers and hobbyest now!

Okay, I know people won't agree. Some may even get PO'd, but don't shoot the messanger. I'm sure everyone has considered that online may have an expiration date. It's apparent they (LE) have made it more difficult. As with any mission they are on. I believe the oldest profession will always be that. I do fear that as they catch, or have caught up, to the technology.
It is going to be harder and harder online. Now I may just be paranoid. Someone always finds a new way. But I would recommend to just comsider old school referrals and networking. Perhaps the return of the Madame isn't too far down the road.

i have to agree.  at least in SD LE  is online and seems to "care" . note care is in quotes. cops (my opinion) only care about making there quota of busts. if they wanted to help they would. but they don't.  (again just my opinion) the days of the  "madame" are back and that is the only way to go for me...
not to say o dont' read reviews and look for new girls.... LOL

I saw the commercial.  It looks like they talked to one of our local ladies.

Let us first start off by understanding the cops who organize and make the busts are only doing as they are told. Most of the time, these orders trickle down from the mayor’s office and are carried out by those on the lowest rungs of the proverbial ladder. Yes, this is an election year and there are many negative issues that Murphy needs to distract us from.
Personally, I will never understand why people think that the police have a “quota” system. That is incorrect. They bust whoever opens themselves up for it.
The fact remains that many of us participate in a hobby that is considered by the mainstream (at least publicly), to be a vice. Those associated with the hobby call it a victimless crime between 2 consenting adults and talk about how the cops should go after all the real criminals in the world. They should be going after murderers, drug dealers, etc.  The fact remains that not all hobbyists are single. Many have families and disease can be transmitted and brought back to the home.
Let me make it clear that I support, and have thoroughly enjoyed this hobby. I just want to make it clear what they are saying on the other side of the table. Just my .02 cents.

The "prevention of disease" excuse doesn't hold water.  If prevention was the underlying reason for escort/john stings, then singles bars, nightclubs and church socials would be illegal as well.  Disease doesn't discriminate.

P.S.  What argument will city council use once stem cell/DNA/Martian research finds a cure for most major STDs?

Singles bars are called that for a reason. Did you read that post correctly? I think that you got confused. As far as the stem cell research is concerned, we will have to wait for an answer. Oh, I just noticed that you posted with an alias. How suprising.
Either way, the argument does hold water. I do not support said argument, but it does hold water.

Has anyone here EVER seen an escort for the first time (i.e. the only situation where a sting is plausible), whom you contacted via the internet, whereby a condom was not used for sex?

The STD argument might occassionally be plausible in situations where client and provider were familiar enough with each other to do something stupid like no condom.  But L.E. isn't doing anything that has any relationship to THAT behavior in their stings.
