Don't go in may.  That's a crappy time of year - rainy season.  Go between late October and February.  Also, just go on your own.  Thailand is super cheap and fun.  I spent a month there years ago (with a female friend from home) and between both us we spent 2k total to live comfortably.

Seriously, avoid the packages and avoid May.  Yuck.

I was thinking of planning a trip to Thailand in May. Anyone headed that way soon? Any tips? Should I book one of those adult vacation packages? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There are new laws designed to protect the exploitation of minors.  You can now be prosecuted in the US for things you did in other countries.  I'm not saying that is what you are planning however I'm sure the justice department is keeping an eye on these packages and I would hate for anybody to innocently get rounded up in a guilt by association situation.
There are lots of other websights that cater to Thailand hobbiers.  The best thing to do is find a trip buddy on one of those boards.  Some people post detailed reports of their trips which are sometimes very entertaining.
Good luck

Never been to thailand, just got back from the Philippines and had a great time. There are several websites that can give you information without paying for a tour. you can pm me if you want I know of a couple. Have fun!

You don't need to book an Adult Tour...just book a  package hotel/air package and make friends with the many American or Aussie tourists there and head down to 'the district' in Bangkok for some 'bangin' good times!   ALWAYS USE PROTECTION

Where are you planning on going? Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya? All are different and all have awesome places to visit. PM me if you want to discuss. Going back in a few months to conduct business. BTW, it will be very very hot in May.
Excuse me if there is an unrelated link below. For some reason that field fills in automatically.

... Sabai Dee Body Massage in Pattaya City.
I've never been there.  It's a recommendation from a friend.  He says they will rock your world.  It's similar to a massage palor you see in the movie "Rush Hour".

Well.. just joined the forum and probably too late for this... but check out worldsexguide.org, it is sorted by country and city.  Dont know which city you are hitting (ive been to Phuket 5x and Pattaya 3x).

No need to book a 'sex tour' package and honestly would say its a waste of time (you get mugged by girls as soon as you step out of your hotel anyway).  All I can say is good luck coming back to this after being there...lol, it is a definate 'paradigm shifter'.  Have fun.. and dont let the jet lag from the 20-hour flight kick your butt too much!
