I'm tired of all the BS myself (and I was also disappointed Sky cancelled her trip). In my opinion, most of this thread is pointless dribble. Although Megan isn't really my "type" and I may not always agree with her, I respect her opinion and her right to post.

I'll be honest...as I look back through this entire thread, I must really wonder how most of this helps the hobbiest and provider community. I recently got chastised on the Phoenix board for complaining about all the "board flirting" that was going on. I feel the same about all the negative comments and attacks. These just push interesting and valuable topics off the first page quicker.

That was mainly a figure of speech, a twist on the Mark Twain quote.  Whatever.

More than that though, we've all seen the flaming that follows announcements by visiting AZ providers.  Mya's visits prompt all sorts of "AZ riffraff" unkindness.

Not a nice word I suppose, but she definitely assessed the climate accurately, and was trying to keep the thread positive.

Don't you think the visiting providers have reason to figure a certain percentage of us will react like assholes?  Doesn't it ALWAYS happen?

In this case, the responses were due to the asshole remark more than to the "hey guys I'm coming to visit!" remark.

Megan is supposed to have so much that is positive about her. If you go back to my first post (which I thought was positive too) I mentioned that I had thought it was beneath her to honor those "people" who complain about her in the manner that she did. She took her post negative by referring to them as "assholes."

There is a certain Balance in which a providers looks, fee, services, attitude and other factors are weighed together when we decide to see them or not. That "comment" for me crossed the line. She is a fine girl who does not need to resort to name calling. That was my whole point!

As long as we are referring to old adages, this one comes to mind, ..."you get more flies with honey than with vinegar."

I just think they get so burned out on posting their "Hey guys, I'm coming out to CA!!" things, and then getting a barrage of "Stay the hell in Arizona" replies.

There have been people who have
1- cancelled their trips
2- developed calloused cold attitudes
3- quit the hobby
4- become ROBs (I know, most ROBS already were)
because some of us take advantage of the anonymity to express ourselves in ways we probably wouldn't if they were a friend or acquaintance.

Unfortunately the nice guys are also reaping the rewards of this.
