Role play is about mindset- to get there, props help, staying in character helps.. submissives I know talk about something they call "subspace"- for me that would be like being "in the zone" playing a sport, or truly feeling my whole dom side and feeling completely in control of something/someone. As I said, props help- sometimes the play is simply centered on getting your partner where they want to be- there have been times I found how good an actor I can be when motivated to fulfill something like that for someone. When it is at its best, both/all are totally into character and all find what they are looking for- that is why BDSM is so great- hard to be a top when you are nor, hard to be a bottom when you are not.. easy to be who you are, and the scenes just play out as people give in to their desires.
