I can only speak from my experience, but I was approached by Staff and asked if I would like to be a moderator. They want people that tend to visit TER regularly and have a history of posting and participating on the site. Benefits include all the free sex you desire (with yourself), having to be available everyday to approve posts, and receiving a lot more private emails from hobbyists and providers. We don't get paid, and we don't get free VIP membership. If you or anyone else are interested, you should contact Staff or Girl Next Door and let them know.
Yes, on my screen I can see when someone uses an alias along with their registered username, which is kinda interesting sometimes. I can also edit and delete posts. I can't read peoples emails though. That's about it. Sedagive.
