Phony reviews of legitimate providers, not a bad idea from SD's Finest.  Sort of kills "two birds with one stone" by legitimizing a phony reviewer while creating an aura of doubt around a legit lady.  Best recommendation is to consider the length of membership of any TER member, and carefully read all reviews.  This latest was pretty easy to spot, but PM me if it eludes you.

I continue to be amazed that these "public servants" have such a big, blank check when it comes to our tax dollars.  Might be interesting to compare the Vice budget increase to other areas of LE such as Narcotics or Homocide.  Seems to me it's time these people were held accountable for some of the decisions they make regarding protecting the public.  The families of every mugging, murder, assault or rape victim would undoubtedly be outraged that such resources were directed towards the manufacture (NOT prevention) of victimless crime.

One also wonders if LE is filing false reviews on providers to develop "probable cause" issues for going after them. Since the days of vice arresting providers after they were given bj's, I wouldn't put much past them.

BTW, it seems to me that some of our current problems in Iraq are simply a question of not enough police. When the California state budget crisis trickles down to S.D. and there are layoffs for SD LE, maybe some of our local boys and girls in blue will sign up.

it will really take a lot for budget cuts to affect LE that much.  It is one of those "untouchables" politically...can't appear soft on crime, ya know?

You should also consider that LE can coerce hobbyists that are busted as well as providers to provide false and misleading information to us as a part of their conditions for a lighter sentence. I regards to the suspicous PAPI reviews particularly. I can tell you from knowing others that were busted in setups that PAPI fits the profile of the type of hobbyist that is easily entrapt by them. The type specifically is always looking for a deal and for providers on the more lenient side of what is acceptable behavior. Being the type that likes to talk about intended acts prior to meeting as well as IMHO the type that may very well have been busted before. In the case of the bigdoggie site these things were done to give legitimacy to several on their boards and to make it easier to get around things. The double reviews of mimi and sumie should not be looked at as now valid because some legitimate people have reviewed them. At one time sumie (who fits the physical descrition of a known female LE) had a phone number that was a KNOWN bad phone number. I know that this could happen on its own but the chances of a provider receiving the same hone number at random as one that was recently used by LE is astronomical.

Think about how easy it would be if they worked a deal to commandeer several busted hobbyists/and providers accounts here and cellphones/e-mail accounts. The local boys if succesful in that will be picking us all up.

My suggestion is to go with the ones you know who do what it takes to protect themsevelves and show a bit of class in their postings as well as here on the board.

Since alot of you guys here back channel why don't you share amongst the truly trusted members here a few code words that can let others know when your hand might be being forced so that in the event you are entrapt and your civil rights of free expression violated you can let others know discreetly.

Super Girl raises some important points.

There is a quote that I heard from my attorney that may be applicable, "Anyone can be brought down, it's just a question of how much time and money you want to spend."

Of course, we all learned this the hard way in Clinton's impeachment trial. But it is also true that S.D. LE can make dramatic arrests against providers and hobbyists alike, if they bring to bear the same resources used in RICO conspiracies, such as gang and drug cartels. This threat should also be viewed in the context of (some) LE's apparent willingness to commit perjury and other crimes under color of authority.

Of course, there's always the question of balance. We are, after all, talking about minor-league misdemeanors, no matter how the prosecutors try to juice them up. If the LE who frequent these boards actually believe that we are in the same league as crime kingpins, drug lords, and the Bloods and Crips, then they are truly lost souls.

about PAPI and his suspicious reviews I suggested exactly this possibility.  So I have to agree with you on that one.

Two of Sumie's reviews are from members with a long and continuous history.  If you're right about her, then they too have been caught up in this.  Hmmm...gotta think about that one.

This is a general comment, not directed at you personnaly. I never assume that a new girl or reviewer is necessarily LE.  There have been too many loose accusations about that (if not backed up by other evidence).  Safety can be maintained by realizing that it's just too dangerous right now to give an unknown the benefit of the doubt.

My VIP is about to expire.  PM me at NE if you want for additional thoughts on PAPI's reviews.

LE campaigns to "shut down prostitution" are hardly new, and neither is their lack of success.  Heck, the world's oldest profession was going for a few thousand years before Robert Peel dreamed up the idea of a professional city police force (hence "Bobbies" and "Peelers" to this day in England).  But they usually end after the election or the Super Bowl is over.

What I think really bugs them is the openness of it all in this age of the internet.  All was fine in the days when a guy had to slink into an "adult" bookstore, hoping nobody he knew would see him, and buy a copy of Swing or some such to find a provider.  Now they feel that every ad on SDX, every thread or review on TER, is an insult, a slap at their pride.  We're openly flaunting our activities right under their noses.  So I'm afraid they're going to keep at it for a while.

Anyhow, that's my 2c.

I've been thinking the same thing myself.

There's some great scenes in the Al Pacino movie "Sea of Love", in which he plays a cop that "owns" the street. The term that they have for it is "cops eyes". It's actually a reversion to the playground, and being "king of the mountain". Sites like this emphasize that they're not really the king of anything, indeed if anything that they're almost as marginalized as the criminals they despise so much.

I think it's one thing for them to know "in theory", that there's a population of johns paying women for sex, but another thing entirely to see the many individuals on this board flaunting their activities. It makes it so much more personal, and so much more of an affront.

But this is just human nature - you can't legislate or criminalize our activities out of existence. If male black widow spiders and preying mantises are willing to risk suicide to mate, I doubt whether LE's feeble efforts will change any of our behavior, except at the margins.

So this is just going to be another futile effort, like their eternal war on drugs. Full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
