Before this evaporates, think of Kevin Spacey's great character "Keyser Soze" in the movie "The Usual Suspects". The things that you really need to know in life, usually go "poof, and then they disappear".

Another point in "The Usual Suspects" that may be relevant, is that it was hard to tell who was working for whom.
