That'd be my issue too.  They'd probably notice the foot traffic and that could cause problems for everybody involved.

I want to start off by saying that I hope all of you had a nice Christmas and that the upcoming new year brings us all prosperity, good health, happiness and joy!!!

I would like to hear some responses from you guys to help me come to a decision before I lock myself into this commitment. I plan on renting a second story apartment that is located in a neighborhood on the border of what I would consider to be an area that I wouldn't normally choose to live in.

It is right off the 805 and El Cajon Blvd exit. It is only one light from the off ramp. It's not even located to far into the neighborhood. You can plainly see the property from El Cajon Blvd when told what to look for. There is a store located across the street. The path to the house is the tricky part. My place is located behind the house that is seen on the street. You must walk through the large gate in the driveway. It seems like your invading the wrong house but really it is the correct way to the property in the back. This path is what concerns me. The question I pose to all of you is, would you be willing to visit me here now that you have an idea of the location? I'm afraid that people will get lost or not like the area to begin with.

I would like to hear your responses before I get locked into a 1 year lease...Be honest please. If you can overlook the surrounding environment, inside of my place would more than make up for your troubles...

Sincerely,

Kayla

I've been hosted in some pretty bizarre locations. My main concern is safe unobtrusive parking and privacy from prying neighbors.  Knocking on the wrong door presents problems.

Kayla - So many of us walk into any new encounter being worried about what we're getting ourselves into.  Are we going to get busted, ripped off, or beat up.  Many of us, like me, aren't so worried about what we spend on a provider (within reason), but much more concerned about bad stuff happening.

So, what I'm saying is, if the neighborhood and/or approach worries you, it will almost certainly worry us.  I wouldn't do it if I were you.

But, if you decide to do it, let me know, I'd love to try it out and see what I think in person :)

Elcajon Blvd is fine. Night time visits may be an issue do to parking. I see the main problem as I would not want to  walk past the main house to get to you. I am private that way. Hope this helps.

1.) discreet approach and entrance; will my passage through the gate be obvious as one of a stream of males during the week?
2.) safe parking; will my wheels still be on my ride when I come out?
3.) neighbors in house in front; if it's a residential area, how plausible is it you're running a "home based business?"
Seriously, some trick pads are so obvious I've felt like slinking out after even the best sessions...
 Hey, thanks for asking, K.

This almost sounds like the place you were in a few years ago with the exception of being in the back instead of the front.  If the access gate was easily identifiable then I wouldn't really have a problem with it.

as I know that area well from living around 39th & Madison for five years.  I miss Venice Pizza and Vesuvio's.

However, I wonder if some of the guys would feel funny with the entryway.  Do you feel okay about it?  Is there any concern on your part with the people who are leasing the unit to you?

I agree with the flow of the responses. I'm concerned for both privacy and environment. If your instinct says there a problem, then there is.

Happy new year to you.I think if they really want to see you they will come. Have been trying to call you the last 2 weeks, but your voice mail is full and you don't pick up. Call me..;-))

Don't do it.  Find an area that you like and find a place there.  You will enjoy it more...
