To think that LE had to monitor discussion boards (although, I'm sure they do) to find out that these places are what they are is ridiculous. I grew up in Escondido, in the same neighborhood as Asia accupressure. From at least the age of 10, I knew that there was something seedy going on behind those tinted windows. Who knows why they chose now to make the bust? Complaints from residents and neighboring businesses? Good political timing? I dont know. but I'm sure that LE had an inkling what was going on long before TER or the internet, for that matter, was even around.

Seems all the Escondido AMPS were busted (see todays' NC Times) except Asia on 9th and esc blvd on Friday. It took 30 cops to bring them down. What a great use of resources! Fucking ridiculous.

And I quote the article:
"Mankin said the crackdown came after months of police stakeouts, surveillance and monitoring Internet chat rooms because of complaints of illegal activity."  Hmmmm.

Should individuals that visited these establishments the last couple of weeks be worry?  With the confiscation of the surveillance tapes.

I wonder how many times something that was written here has been the catalyst that got one of our favorite ladies busted?

A middle-age man found wearing a towel at Sundance Spa said he was there because he has been having lower back problems.

"This is my first time," the heavyset customer said. "I was here in Escondido looking at cars. I came in here (the strip mall) for a soft drink and saw this place. I had a shower and sat there waiting until this (officer) came in."

30 cops and a battering ram.......sounds like they need a little brush up on breaking down doors.....think i'll call Cal OSHA

I am so angry about this. 9 months investigation? 30 cops? How many of those vice cops early in the investigation reported no activity after getting their rocks off? And a "Sex Addict" goes to the cops for help? Get a therapist, asshole! How about the real crime in Escondido, the kind with victims? How many millions did this cost over the last 9 months? Man, I am PO'd! I hope the girls are OK. I am so going to miss Sandy!

It's a fact of life re: chatroom monitoring...I'm sure a cop is reading my post right now (hello officer).  LOL on the cop who doesn't know how to use a battering ram and needed to get stitches to his face...poor baby.  If you were a client of Sunset they could have massaged that for you.  Now you have a scar for the rest of your life that you can tell your grandkids you got when you bravely knocked down a door to save the world from 40 something year old Asian women who GASP! gave a man a handjob.
