Reid you "read up" before you entered the hobby?

I did a LOT of research before I entered the hobby. I had actually been thinking about it for about a year and a half before I actually contacted someone. I was going to before that, but frankly, I lost my nerve. For me personally, this was a very tough decision to make, and as strange as it seems, I'm more comfortable with this than I think I would be online dating. I can say, however, that I've never regretted my decision. I've met some wonderful people and had some incredible experiences thus far, which I hope to continue.
By the way, Jai, I want to thank you for continuing to post interesting topics to the board. I think you're many times the only person keeping this board from going on life-support!

I started in the 'hobby' 10 years ago just as the internet was getting rolling.  TER was in its' infancy, with only a few SD posts and very few reviews.  There were a handful of ads on SDExotics and Eros, and no gals had their own website.  I actually used the Yellow Pages(!) and got lucky with an agency (they're long gone, unfortunately) that sent out some great gals.  It was the Dark Ages!  Sheesh, I'm 39, but right now I feel ancient!

Yes, I had a running argument with myself for over a year about calling an escort for the first time.  I'm very glad I did...I've never had a bad experience, have certainly had some great experiences, and have made a few friends that went beyond 'work'.

Yes I did try and read everything I could but back then there was not very much out there to read.  Nowadays with the web this hobby is much easier for both the hobbiest and the provider. It can be fairly simple now for the hobbiest to find any type of lady he or she desires and with the all the various sites ou there the provider has many places to advertize her business.But despite this there are not very many high quality ladies out there that provide great quality companionship. I do know of maybe one or two(wink,wink)

Most definitely read up before getting started.  TER has been very helpful in learning the ropes.  And I must admit, I am amazed at the number of providers playing...

I read up about the hobby and deliberated about getting into it for almost a year before I took the plunge.  Sites like TER are helpful to find providers that are compatible and avoid problems.
There's no substitute for practice to discover what works best for you.

I've been fortunate to have had mostly good experiences with good providers.  The great ones are harder to find, but well worth the effort.

Yeah, I do. I was looking to meet and spend time with some beautiful women, and I've certainly done that. The experiences I've had in the "hobby" are in many ways more satisfying that what I've had outside of it.
