There is a program called System Mechanic which does a good job of removing a lot of that information. Not all of it of course, but I believe there is another product called Evidence Eliminator which is much more comprehensive.
How can I disable the function on the computers from which I access TER that automatically shows my screen name when TER is accessed? My proiblem is that I do not want anyone else who uses the computer(s) to stumble on TER, learn my screen name and then find reviews listed. Such a person would not be able to read the VIP portion of the reviews without a password, but would be able to see the reviews and the time periods. (Don't look for reviews under Grayboy; it is a different alias.) I have e-mailed TER about this problem but have not recieved any response. HELP!!!
We'd need to know what browser you're using but it's a good idea to delete your history and cookies if you wish to cover your tracks somewhat to do what you want at a minimum
On the menu: Tools/Internet Options then select Delete Cookies and delete temporary files.
next time you log in here is a little check box that allows a cookie to be set for your PW to be stored in your box. Don't check it. This also applies for Hotmail, Yahoo, porn site logins etc. Keep your usernames and PW's in your head.
I would suggest using a separate browser. If you generally use IE then load Netscape or vice versa. make sure personal information, including email, is not listed, and limit the memory allocated to hold history is very low (less than 1MB). And as has been said, deleted cookies regularly.
I use all of the above mentioned methods and one more: This of course will not work in the work environment if you are not an admin on the system but for use at home.
Create different user accounts for those who use your computer. If using XP set disable the welcome screen which shows all the users set up on the machine and also disable Fast User Switching for good measure. Both are done under control panel|user accounts|Change the way users log on or off.
Once you have set up different user accounts on your machine. Be certain that those who you do not want to view your tracks do not have administrative rights on the machine.
This way each user will have their own bookmarks, cookies etc and you can still take the other precautions but have one more layer of protection between you and discovery.

Above info good advice. If you want more security, however, I suggest "Eraser" a highly rated (look it up) and FREE history scrubbing program. Used to use "HistoryKill", easy to use but a pain to get new serial numbers if need to reload. (They'd rather you buy newest version instead)
"Eraser" is all that's stated versus the hype from many other history scrub programs. Use it "carefully" so you don't accidently erase your HD or folders/files. Link attached:
in addition to cookies and history you must do something else if you are using IE--
go to TOOLS, INTERNET OPTIONS, CONTENT- then click on AUTO COMPLETE- then click on CLEAR FORMS.
This way when a form like the opening screen of TER, hotmail, your bank account (etc) comes up your user name or other info. won't be there. You can also uncheck the boxes for user names & passwords and forms and they will not be remembered automatically each time you log on. Hope this helps.
