have talked to me about role play.  They posted on this subject on same National Board thread today (link: "Fantasies & Role Play")....

So, my question is:  What is "role play"?  I have fantasies, and enjoy them to fruition, all the time.  But say "role play" to me and, in my mind's eye, I imagine a Kaiser role flying through the air.  Is that it?

Really.  I'm not kidding.  

Do I have to dress up?  How specific do you get in advance?  And how can you tell if the other person is enjoying herself, or not, or playing her role to the hilt, or not?

Just putting both of those ladies together in the same sentence makes me weak in the knees and light headed!!

Role play is about mindset- to get there, props help, staying in character helps.. submissives I know talk about something they call "subspace"- for me that would be like being "in the zone" playing a sport, or truly feeling my whole dom side and feeling completely in control of something/someone. As I said, props help- sometimes the play is simply centered on getting your partner where they want to be- there have been times I found how good an actor I can be when motivated to fulfill something like that for someone. When it is at its best, both/all are totally into character and all find what they are looking for- that is why BDSM is so great- hard to be a top when you are nor, hard to be a bottom when you are not.. easy to be who you are, and the scenes just play out as people give in to their desires.
