Belly up is great
cafe sevia has great food and even better wine (quiet atmosphere)
Giblin's for the good irish whiskey and Hennesey's around the corner
There's also Sammy's for pizza
Coyote's is OK, but as others have said, lots of military. There's a bar across the street that usually has live bands and another one, a block east of coyote's on the same side of the street that usually plays classic rock. Sorry I don't remember the names.

As for me I am going to a wet Tshirt contest\lingerie show on halloween night. After the internetmodel palooza at Scores in LA, with lots of Porn Stars and naked women around. It might be a little tamer, but the contest is much closer. Hopefully not a sausage fest.

I have some friends coming down at the end of the month and they are staying in Carlsbad. There have been requests for a TJ adventure but they may want to stay closer to their hotel near Lego Land. I am not very familiar with what is good inthe north county area for Restaraunts and nite clubs so I need the knowledge of those wiser than I to make this evening soemthing they will never forget unless they black out from too much alcohol (it's been known to happen)

Just a quick rundown of the players. One of them is a Writer known for his tales of drunken excess and womanizing, he may or may not be bringing along his SO who is a bisexual hottie dedicated to being his wing girl. Two of his male friends from college. One is an attorney from the bay area and the other is a young computer geek type who is aftraid of me and my intense sexual energy. His total annihilation by means of excess is our primary goal. He loves good scotch and has an intense fear of large women so any where they are known to hang out would be a bonus.

These are not hobbyists just 20 something wild and crazy guys who think a night out with Ginger will include all kinds of debauchery and excess....I would of course hate to dissapoint and after all have a reputation to uphold. In addition to myself there will be two other non provider females who are up for anything coming along.

We would like to do a full evening with dinner lots of drinking, dancing, drunken karaoke and or live music/entertainment. While not filthy rich the expense is not limited to thrifty establishments but very fun low class to slumming inviroments are welcome too.

Reading some of the threads on the TJ board may help.  My experience is that finding bi-sexual girls in TJ hard. I'm not much of one for loud music, drinking and partying (too old and too much of a geek) so I usually stick with the messge parlors and consequently I'm not the best to advise you on what you are seeking.  Most people party in the Zona Rojo;  Adaletias and Chicago Club are the most famous places there.  I have found the members of the TJ board to be very helpful so you might want to post your questions on the TJ board.  Milkster, a TJ board regular, is famous for hosting parties in TJ.  You might want to PM him and some of the other TJ board posters who seem knowlegable in your area of interest.  Good luck.

Coyote Bar in Carlsbad?  Good place to start with outdoor live music, fire pits, Mexican food, and all ages dancing. (Five minutes from Legoland and across the street from the outlet stores)  Let me know if you go there. :)  I'll meet you.

I like Chiefs in Solana Beach for the dive atmosphere, really cool bartenders and great burgers.

A pretty good dancing location (or so I've heard) is Niemann's in downtown Carlsbad.  It is a restaurant until 10 pm or so and then the floor is open for dancing and drinking.  Personally, I think you can find a lot to do in downtown Carlsbad.  You really can't go wrong for dinner their either.

I agree with the previous post about downtown Carlsbad especially Coyotes with the exception that I am not much of a fan of Nieman's.

If you want some great Mexican food and over 100 types of tequila, try El Callejon in Encinitas in the little shopping center at Encinitas Blvd and Pacific Coast highway.

As far as larger women, my only suggestion is to invite me along and instruct me to look for smaller women.  I guarantee you will find many large women.  By the same token, if you want smaller women, invite me to looker for larger women.  Never fails.

I agree with el calleon (sp?) in Encinitas. Great food.
Stay out of Carlsbad Village including Coyote Bar and Neimans unless there is a reggae show. To much military and ugly women who think their gods gift to men. Really, cuz of the way the military guys go for the ugly ones or any women for that matter. Furthermore it's a meat market down there.  A sausage party if you catch my drift. Stay away.
I recommend a great Italian restaurant called Tuscany. It's on the corner of El camino Real and Aviarra. They sometimes have live music.
After I would swing over to the Club at Lacosta. Its a block away. They have live jazz thursday thru saturday eves. It's a bit upscale but fun.
If it's a friday or Saturday night swing down to the martini ranch in Encinitas. It will be packed. Every type of women imagined. Mostly attracive. Also a proper mix of guys to gals.
Also on Friday nights the Crazy Burro is fun. They have kerrokee(sp?). From about 5pm till 9:30 it goes off. However it dies down early. Also they serve Mexican food.
Again I say to stay out of the carlsbad Village. Way overrated. Cops everywhere looking to hand out DUI'S. Worst of all is the drop of quality looking ladies.
Having issues hitting the correct keys this morning. Also speeling issues. Sorry.

You might also try the Kraakken(sp)in cardiff.
Casual,biker kind of place with pooltables, darts, and live music.
