It comes with the job unfortunately... Now I had some TRUE SITUATION: a client had a heart attack in Florida before going to Disney world. (he lived obviously) and I went to Disney world on my own and had a blast!!!
I had the same old "work just called me" which can be understandable cause life is full of surprises now...the same guy gave me that work excuse twice few month appart: bye bye forever.
Please look at it from a provider point of view: When YOU make a reservation with US, we are blocking that time FOR YOU. So when other potential client calls you, technically you are not available...so obviously when it's a no show you lost not only on that date but on other potential one.
In another hand, the job has to come with some cons otherwise it would be too good to be true and no one would do it!
to give as much notice as possible (at least 24 hours) if I can't make it which is almost always due to a change in travel schedules. I hobby mostly out of town and try to arrange appointments with highly rated providers so I generally try and schedule well in advance and if I have a change in schedule there is plenty of time to contact the provider so she can make other arrangements and not be harmed from a schedule standpoint or economically. I get Mp's comment below with respect to that perhaps even whitelisted ter or datecheck/p411 okay dudes can flake at times but I am personally turned off by the deposit thing. I think that is just a personal thing. I had to cancel once on a pre arranged hotel incall that the gal had to book a room with a 24 cancellation notice and my trip got cancelled so I just mailed her the hotel deposit funds plus another C note for her troubles but that was only once and I felt it was the right thing to do. I would hope most of the guys would do the right thing.
Since I started a required 50% deposit to book it has never been a problem for me. I am happy to say never again will I have that problem. Traveling, Hotels, Childcare, etc.. not free all expences that need to be covered & yes TER whitelisted guys flake too!
i haven't had a straight up "no show" since i was with my agency where fake appointments were booked by the competing massage group. a little screening could have gone a long way, but hey, hind sight is 20/20 and i was green with no knowledge of screening and assumed my bookers were taking care of that. i must say i likely dodged some bullets there given that anyone could schedule and be sent the directions prior to any personal checking.
now that i am solo i have 0.000% no shows and only something like 5% cancellations but rarely are they canceled less than a day prior to the meeting. once in a blue moon someone texts or calls and hour or two before a meeting to say they can't make it but usually those people ask if it's okay to reschedule instead of cancel.
