I would like to get tested for Covid before making new appointments. Can someone recommend some testing sites, preferably offering PCR tests, in the North County (Encinitas/Carlsbad/Vista) that are hassle-free and uncomplicated?

Testing is free, but takes up to 6 days to receive your results. Thank God I tested negative. Good luck!

I just traveled to/from Hawaii and the island require a negative covid test result uploaded to the state website to get a QR code that gets you through the airport health screening  no more that 72 hours before wheels up and only from specific vendors. Nothing (none of the approved vendors) in San Diego could guarantee the 72 hour timeframe. Found Vault Health online and they got it done. It’s a home test in which the sample collection is observed via zoom. Order online, they next-day it to you, schedule the call, give the sample, box it up and they provide a next day UPS label drop it off at UPS before last pick up for the day and off it goes to their lab. I’ve had results about 30 hours from when I sent the sample out.

Just did the PCR test from Vault health last Monday for a Wednesday flight.  Sample was overnight-ed Monday, arrived Tuesday morning and I had results by early Wednesday morning before my flight but it was tight.

Things have come along since I flew in November as on the plane I met a woman who took a PCR test from Carbon Health that was done at the airport cargo terminal and she had results the next day.  It's a little pricier ($170.00 Carbon vs. $110.00 Vault) but if you want a PCR in a day there ya go.
