RAIN in San Diego!

No I'm not referring to the provider in LA. Although she is apparently quite nice, I'm referring to:

Glorious liquid sunshine that is a rare treat in this semi arid, near desert environment.

I awoke to the steady, and seldom heard of late, patter of rain at my window. For someone who lived much of his life back east, and in particular the southeast, I truly miss rain and most especially the magnificent summer afternoon thunderstorms of my native Florida.

I believe we set a record by 1 day for the most consecutive days without out rain in San Diego (city).

As I lay there in the transient haze of passing from sleep to being fully awake my thoughts drifted to an oft of late unrealized fantasy.

I imagined myself in the warm embrace of one of San Diego's most desirable women. Perhaps more than one comes to mind but for me I can imagine no better moment than to awaken on a lazy morning in the embrace of a beautiful woman as rain gently falls, or better yet to an even more rare event, a thunderstorm with the roll of distant thunder and the flash of lightning.

I'm not sure how this fantasy could move to the realm of reality since trying to time a shared encounter on a day with rain is so seldom possible here. It seems as if it would almost have to be last minute or within a few hours to make it happen.

Nonetheless I can imagine, dream, fantasize about being in her warm embrace, my face nuzzled in the crook of her neck, and the sensuous brush of her silky hair against my skin. It brings up an almost dreamy, childlike sense of warmth, a sense of safety and security as we lie together protected from the elements.

A guy can dream, can't he?

Enjoy the rain, a rare and brief treat for us.

Wow ... Seems Like YOU Were READING MY MIND!!  :)
I TOO am from "back East" & I DESPERATELY MISS the THUNDERSTORMS and the beautiful LIGHTENING accompanying them!  One significant difference, though, is that when it rains "back there" it's NICE, WARM RAIN that you can run around in ... Not like here! (Brrr)

Come to think of it, MY FAVORITE thing to do is to spend a RAINY (Sun)DAY ... IN BED ALL DAY ... Reading, Making Love, Nodding-Off, Waking-Up, REPEAT (Until No Longer Able to) ... Aaah, and  afterward ordering Yummy Chinese Food!  :)
But, alas ... Good Luck Trying to PLAN Something Like THAT ... Especially HERE in San Diego!!  :(

Oh Well, At Least We Can DREAM ...

By the way, You WERE RIGHT ... We just barely beat our previous record (by 1 day).  So, San Diego's NEW RECORD is  "181 Days Without Rain"

Speaking of RAIN ... MAN, You Should've SEEN it Down Here IN TIJUANA Last Night!!  The Streets Were Like RIVERS, Seriously ... And it ONLY Takes A MINUTE or TWO ... This morning the streets  were STREWN with debris ... Looked like a MINI HURRICANE hit TiJuana in the middle of the night! :0  (Whaaat??)

I've got a serious question for anyone who's knowledgeable (sp?) about THIS KIND of thing:  What would it take to put an "Infra-Structure" (?) into place down in TJ??  I mean, NOT THE ENTIRE CITY, mind you .. Just IN CENTRO and on the LOWER STREETS. You know, the ones that end-up catching the MAJORITY of the RUN-OFF??

The reason I'm asking is, well ... They are doing a TON of CONSTRUCTION in TJ right now ... MOST of which IS IN Centro ...
Yet, I don't see them doing anything other than tearing-up & re-paving the roads after they've widened the sidewalks.  :(
I wish there was SOMETHING that could be done for the people down here ... All it takes is being STUCK down here ONCE in the RAIN  & You'll NEVER FORGET IT!!  :0  (Dios Mio!)

Anyhow, Enough of MY Ranting & Raving ...
GEEZ, What a TANGENT, huh??  Whoops!  ha*ha  :)

Bye for Now ...
xoxo ~ LARA
