Hey, I was curious how safe this really is.  Who wants to get something you cant get rid of. Is anyone going to mention anything about that??

It is a frequent topic of conversation.  Best way to get facts is to go to the Center for Disease Control.  Also there are some other sites that some post on here from time to time.

Bottom line is, that you are the one who needs to weigh the risks agains the benefits, and decide how much of a risk you want to take..as abstinence is the only 100% safe way.

Many on here hae compared certains risks in this area to driving on the freeway, etc.  Which obviously does not give much pleasure for the inherent risks involved.:-)

Its also good to consider how concerned your partner is with safety issues, as that is a good hint as to the risks she may choose to take, and can also give you an idea of the kind of exposure your are letting yourself in for.
