What did that AZ Republic author mean "the suspect seemed to be living well beyond her means in a Tempe neighborhood of mostly retirees and professionals"?

In trying to puzzle that out, I've considered whether the paper is saying:

   1. Working girls shouldn't have earnings; or

   2. It's OK to be a working girl, just don't do TOO well; or

   3. Our sisters, daughters, wives, girlfriends, moms, etc., who work at this trade should stay poor and not mix with their betters (i.e., retirees and professionals).

I'm missing something, right?
